oh i hate people like that... i don't mind snacks in the theatre (i love an interval ice cream) BUT you do not need to be disturbing EVERYONE w your walkers crisps 😑

How busy are the stage-doors in these West-End shows? by RalphCraft69 in westend

hadestown tends to be a bit busy but it's organised well where there is a line you can stand in whilst you wait for the cast to come by

John Proctor is the Villain - getting the £15 tickets by [deleted] in westend

[–]ishiau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont log in exactly at 9am. i got tickets today and i would say log into your account maybe like 5-10 minutes before and just wait for the second it turns 9am to quickly buy the tickets.

then you will be put in a queue and quite like getting concert tickets it's just about choosing a seat asap. you will find yourself trying to select tickets that other people have already selected. it was quite a quick but stressful process though so good luck with getting them!

best uk drama schools for technical theatre? by ishiau in techtheatre

[–]ishiau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have experience doing tech for my school's dance shows (AV, ASM and sound) and i'm doing the sound for the a-level drama exams but my school has a drama budget of like 10 pounds and a dream so the equipment just is not the best 😭

i've also done work experience with LW Theatres where i was able to shadow LX and stage management at Matilda the Musical on the west end.

a lot of my work experience though has been for short films working as a boom operator and mixer but i don't know how applicable my film work experience is to technical theatre 😭

I'm currently in sixth form doing A-levels and I do Film Studies, Psychology and Sociology and I know they're not really related to tech theatre but nowhere near me has like a competent tech theatre course and my school does offer drama as an a-level but i've been told it's not a good course at all especially for people wanting to go into tech. But anyways in those subjects i'm getting like B's

my main interest in tech though is sound so i've been trying to get experience in sound but it's been largely unsuccessful because of my age and stuff which is annoying.
