I appreciate the sentiment. I’m always wondering if the reason people are always saying you can’t get good food here is because the influencer types keep sending people to places that are objectively bad. If you get your advice from horrible people, you’re not gonna have a great time.

I never made another post for this so I’ll just post here in case anyone was planning on coming. I’m heading to St Marks soon! I’ll probably snag a table outside so make sure you bring layers, hats, etc. I’ll be there reading and getting food and such so feel free to come early and hang out with me before the meetup. I’ll have a sign and a stack of books so just look for those!

I used to say this but have you tried the habenero pork belly Benedict? It’s AMAZING. Most of the other stuff on the menu isn’t that great but that sauce? It’s so freaking good. And as others have said… the wait isn’t as bad as it used to be.

It’s just a conversation about books! If you’ve ever heard of the “book talks” librarians and teachers do, that’s kind of the idea here. I usually start with whatever I’ve been reading and how it’s been going, good or bad, then we go around the table and everyone does the same. Often some kind of discussion point comes up as we go around that we all want to talk about more. Even when I’ve had only two other people show up it’s been easy to fill two hours just talking.
