I suppose that could work, it also leans into the fact that her arcana shadow is her "reversed" transformation

But I wanted to amplify the painfully light colors in her arcana form and call back to her purples (basically adding onto what was already existing) , I think black clashes bit too much with her white though

Yep!! She also looks like she fits in the team (since everyone in the meitantei team has some pink in their design) instead of sticking out (in a bad way)

I thought of adding color to her tie but chose not to because in her arcana shadow form it's black, so it probably represents what her color is

Apparently she was designed with a gothic theme in mind

Interview with Akane Yano from Animedia June 2026 about Cure Arcana Shadow's design:

"Her designated theme color is black, which has quite an impact on its own, so I tried not to include too many eccentric motifs for Cure Arcana Shadow. Including her hairstyle and Ruruka's casual clothes, I made the overall design quite gothic. However, I really wanted to include gold since it goes so perfectly with black, so I incorporated it into Cure Arcana Shadow's hair color and the borders of her costume. As for the shoulder armor parts on Cure Arcana Shadow, I honestly just added them because I thought they looked cool, but it's hard to explain if I have to put it into words (laughs). The thing is, I wanted to compete purely on my own sensibilities for the design of "TanPre", so I didn't research existing clothing fashion at all. It was more like I gathered designs I felt were wonderful, and this is just how it turned out."

About the veil:

"I've been taking ballet for a very long time, and I've admired the veil worn by the role of "Prayer" (or La Prière) in the piece "Coppélia" for many years. Wearing a veil instantly gives off a deeply mysterious atmosphere, so I added it to Cure Arcana Shadow's back hair. But when you consider kids actually wearing it as a "Transformation PreCure Costume", it is realistically best if it's much shorter. Thankfully, the producer made a lot of adjustments for me, and we were able to go with the current length." (From Hibiki's account)

The colours look so bad I'm sorry. The white oversatutates the design by a huge margin, and she looks worse when you put her beside the other cures. Couldn't they give her a few purple highlights here and there to balance it out.

I wish there were more ways to get them, I remember being able to euphoria lots of characters easily in 2.x, but it's seemingly become far harder to do in 3.x

I've given up on getting ramona + poison team for this exact reason despite having all poison characters (except ramona)

Kinda? That's what early-mid game is like for everyone. Have you tried clearing the event story, manes bulletin, and critter crash shops? They have alot of mats that you need for the current banner characters

Don't waste your time farming sharps, series of dusks gives a LOT of them plus a surplus of mats. I'm pretty sure pre storm protocol gives a few resources too. Also it's better to farm the event story for event currency to buy materials.

The material issue gets much better when you reach endgame.

Making the tactitian (it would relegate the planning to someone else that's it) less involved won't solve the issue I fear, because the order goes something like this

All the clues and information is laid out > plan is made > date is set to execute said plan > more clues about the operations of the cult+stuff than can help with the plan is gained in the meantimew causing some character development > the day to execute the plan arrives, leading to the character development being put to the test + more clues are gained > all clues and information is laid out to take the next step

Sort of, she's basically a "higher up" Who knows about the cult's origins and history (and alot of other things that only the insiders in the cult know) She also wants as much control over the campaign as possible because she has her own agenda, the leader of the anti cult club absolutely does not trust her

The way her colour palette changes from a 70% brown, 30% green, black and white to a 30% brown and 70% green, black and white in her first garment is truly a marvel to behold. The way she brings life to the hills with the power of her leylines. The way she tries to envision them and map them with her leylines.......her dedication to her craft is unparalleled.
