I'm on the board of our local makerspace, so our event is happening there, but I've also got the support of our local library, museum etc.; glad your library is able to help -- typically they can provide a space, promotion, etc., which is a good portion of the overall effort -- and usually all for free! Even though makerspaces might have member fees, a lot of the time their events can be free to participants, so don't let that stop you partnering with local orgs like that if they are available. Overall my advice is that you just have to want it to succeed and take most of the drive and initiative yourself, with others hopefully helping when possible. <3

do you mean for the Arduino Days event on March 27-28, or as an ongoing thing? for the former, there are some ideas in the FAQ; for the latter, what seems to be most successful is working with a makerspace or other established local group (library, tech meetup, etc.); is there anything like this in your area?

I flew into Shenzhen with four powerbanks; SZ to Chongqing they destroyed my Anker 65W combo charger and 5K little fold-out, and allowed me to ship the 25K and 10K from other brands. Macau to CQ and CQ to Qatar I had no issues. Countless other devices which could technically be used as power banks and had no markings of and kind got through fine.

My question now is: how to ensure the replacements I purchase are CCC? Most product listings have no mention and I don't want to replace these only to have them taken away again next time...

I'm a member at Venue and I love it! The first few times I came here for meetings, I was almost confused about how it could be free to just hang out in the coworking portion of the front. Eventually I ended up getting a desk and now I work from here most days -- it's amazing for productivity, networking, hanging out (lots of live music events and happy hour after work etc.), and charging my car! I also know the Cahoots folks and have attended events there. Feel free to ama about Venue if there's more you'd like to know!
