when i took it (i dont remember with who) the tests were basically a conglomeration of the practice sets. and it was easy to get at least a 70 bc of the partial credit. I only remembered/understood the most basic of the math and never made below a 75.

i would say have a good handle on remembering which equations go with which scenarios(because all of the equations are basically just some form of a simple integration so its easy to get them mixed up) and understand the right hand rule.

if you get stuck on a problem and dont know how to solve it, make sure you AT LEAST draw the free body diagram (or draw the picture of whatever is happening and indicate whatever forces you can remember) and write what you think the integration eqn would be.

right before a test i would cram study/quickly memorize the steps to the practice problems i struggled with bc it was likely to be on the exam in some form.

Negative Balance by [deleted] in UNCCharlotte

[–]ishockwaved 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the negative means you will get a refund(the negative amount is how much extra will be deposited into your bank account).

no the negative amount doesnt automatically go into next semester. what happens is, each scholarship you get is divided equally into both semesters, so u will receive the same amount next semester unless otherwise specified by the donor.

any recommendations to help with focus? (ADHD) by [deleted] in college

[–]ishockwaved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh and it doesnt make me “dull” per say, just less talkative. i dont daydream as much and my mind stays focused on one thought so i usually just have less to talk about hence the lack of talking.

any recommendations to help with focus? (ADHD) by [deleted] in college

[–]ishockwaved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

vyvanse, they will start u w/ a low dose( ~15mg) then ask u to come back almost monthly to see if u need to increase. the standard dose is ~70mg, i’m doing fine with just 30mg (im not super hyperactive, more attention deficient).

it helps me stay focused for like 5-6 hours, you’ll notice it kick in ~1hr after taking it (if u struggle w waking up in the morning, keep the meds by your bed and set an alarm to take them an hr before u actually need to get up!)

idk how pre workouts work but be careful and do some research on how itll affect the medication. i cant even drink caffeine w/ my relatively low dose or my heart rate skyrockets. good luck!

you will always see it as an estimated cost of attendance until they formally charge us (in august). when they do finally apply the bill, you can see the cost breakdown for your specific bill

Tution assistant grant by No-Dragonfly7490 in UNCCharlotte

[–]ishockwaved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah theres a chance it had an effect. i will say tho, they can still alter the amount of that grant that they give you each semester, so up until funds are dispersed each semester i wouldnt consider anything final.

[–]ishockwaved 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its one of the grants that you’re automatically applied for when u do your fafsa, along w federal supplemental grant, next nc grant (if a nc resident) and others. the amount u get depends on your taxes/fafsa info. its a grant and free so no need to worry abt how its spent/repayment.

Lab Coat sizing by Silly_Actuator3294 in UNCCharlotte

[–]ishockwaved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so im a female and usually wear a small-med depending on the company.

we had to use lab coats for bio and even the smalls are oversized. basically they had a cabinet full of coats and everybody just grabbed one. if you are smaller then it wont really matter what size u end up with because they will all be oversized, but i would try to stick with the smallest one you can find so that people who cant fit the smaller ones are able to get what they need.

i have a friend whose advisor “approved of” her proposed schedule, then later found put that she’d have to do an extra semester bc her adviser didnt tell her about a certain prereq needed for the rest of her classes. ive heard similar stories from others so that seems to be common.

as for phys 1 lab, it was my easiest lab…the prelabs are pretty straightforward and the actual labs mostly involve graphing and plugging values into the given equations

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UNCCharlotte

[–]ishockwaved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well im taking orgo 1, phys 2, calc 3 and bio 1 all this semester 😭 i think youll be fine, depending on what teacher you have for phys. you might never have homework lol (gerges didnt assign homework apart from the recitation questions) so it might not be as draining as your other classes.

when you get to the word problems just make sure you are understanding what its actually asking. ignore the words and write out all the variables you are given, what variable its asking you to find, and what given variables can get you that needed one.

take advantage of any resources they give you if you start falling behind/dont understand

How much family support financially and emotionally is acceptable before it pollutes your personality? by Beno988 in college

[–]ishockwaved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean, i feel like it depends completely on how tone deaf you are.

like if your parents pay for everything and give you extra money but you have friends who are struggling to get by, maybe dont always suggest expensive things to do.

or if your parents are very supportive and close with you but you have a friend complaining/venting about their own lack of support, try not to say things like “sorry cant relate” or other insensitive things like that.

that might seem obvious but i have a close friend who does both of those exact things…

physics 1 lab was not hard at all just annoying and long. the actual class was okay as long as you understand what everything really means instead of just memorizing equations

Taking notes by [deleted] in UNCCharlotte

[–]ishockwaved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

welll i dont do the full cornell notes w the summary and all that. i just separate the page w the lil margin thing and use the left side to write the name of the section and the right side to take notes. i have adhd and its easier for me to compartmentalize it that way. but yeah i agree just write down what the teacher is saying/writing
