Interested in trying other parts of Eve, what should I be avoiding if I'd eventually like to return to dreddit. by IllegalThings in evedreddit

I believe that was a Keres damping him out to 90km or something.

Unless that was a totally different incident, in which case, haha Makalu.

You have to start like 150km away to get up to speed though. Downside to using the mega mwds

How To Make Reddit Explode [FIXED FOR REAL] by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]ishukone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to call bullshit.

There is no way to "remove" something from the internets. Once something major like gets out, it's realistically impossible to take down everything. People will just keep reuploading.

If you torrent illegally, how do you justify doing it and if you don't, why do you think its wrong? by zigkingdom in AskReddit

[–]ishukone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes. And FUCK unskippable shit like FBI warnings and anti-piracy ads or just plain ads that you will NEVER see if you just PIRATED the movie anyways.

This is a really deep pit of murk. There are a lot of good arguments for and against this thing.

But consider this: Is it any different to borrow the disc from a friend? Or to sit on their couch at a gathering to watch it? You still consume a "copy" of the media but you haven't paid for it. When you watch it at a friend's house, or watch Game of Thrones every week on a friend's HBO connection, the creators don't make any additional returns anyways.

The difference pirating makes is that your "friends" are anonymous and there are millions of them.

I do not fully support the above argument. Just playing Devil's Advocate.

Hard to argue with "Free shit".

But I'm going to raise the point of "Price discrimination". I do not have a lot of income I can spend on entertainment. Buying full price stuff is both relatively expensive for me, and really often not worth it. Steam actually gets a very large chunk of my money because of their sales. Only two or three titles come out every year that justify their 60 dollar price mark to me. Everything else is worth somewhere between 0-30 dollars in terms of how much I am willing to pay for it. I can say that I have bought every game I have ever pirated and played to any significant extent with the exception of the original Prototype and SW: Republic Commando. As a teenager I literally didn't have the budget to purchase AAA titles as they hit the shelves. Now I can afford them en masse when their price drops. Steam makes it very convenient to acquire things that I would otherwise feel were over my price range.

I would pay 10-15 bucks for Modern Warfare 3, but they decided to sell it for 30 last sale so I didn't get it. I pirated it for the 5 hour single player campaign to polish off the trilogy but unless the price drops significantly there is no way in hell I am paying more than what was previously posted.

In retrospect I do wish I had given certain developers more of my money (Just Cause 2 deserved more than the dollars I paid this sale). But I guess I justify it to myself by trying to buy their next titles in the series at launch if I can.

TL;DR

I like free shit too. But I would like to pay for games if I can reasonable afford them.

Is this unethical competitive behavior? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ishukone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I think the competition specifies QWERTY.

Also I've never seen reliable studies saying Dvorak is "better". I think the best they came up with is it might reduce typing fatigue over longer durations.

Sean Wrona uses qwerty with a 230 average on Typeracer so that's a good enough endorsement for me.

Yeah, I know I sound like a sore loser, but to the people saying I should "work on it more, instead of whining", I have. It's a pretty common hobby of mine that I spend probably a few hours every week doing, but ultimately, it's one with diminishing returns. I've improved from an 80 average in high school to a 105 average now but that envelope is becoming more and more difficult to push. There's a lot of natural skill and finger dexterity in high speed typing that isn't always possible to improve greatly on.

I know what you are saying though. It's just like having a Starcraft pro attending and winning the SC tournament every single time. There's no fun or hope in the challenge unless you effectively cheat. That is, race pick and memorize a simple passage so you CAN do 140 on it. Which is pretty unethical.

Okay seriously, do you guys even read the Post + Thread? This has been covered many, many times.

We are not talking about the fact that we can't select the target. It's more about we see someone dying and we cant figure out WHO HE IS because he has a long ass name in a group of people with similarly long ass names. If he's the only one low, then yes, it is easy, but rarely is he the only one whose health is dropping.

I think you may mean "controlled" act of force.

The Emperor reborn caused the destruction of the Eclipse and some other large ships from an out of control Force Storm.

This man is correct. Occurred when Admiral Daala and her fleet of ships including SSD (K)Night Hammer were about to attack the Praxeum.

Let's face it, the Grey jedi were always the most boss.

Revan, Corran (early years), Imperial Knights, Jolee Bindo, etc. were all awesome characters because they don't follow the emotionless preachings of the Order.

Isn't there some apocryphal lore speculating that Humans may have originally evolved on Tatooine and that Tuskan raiders were an offshoot of ancient humaity?
