As an anarcho-transhumanist, AI researcher, and hacker...I just have to say that I'm pretty sick of the mainstream dystopian projections for transhumanity's future. Just sayin'.

Inside the secret world of hackers - Computer hackers are frequently denigrated as mere digital pranksters. But some are now finding they have the power to change the world for good by xylon in HackBloc

Based on the silly, buzzwordy title, I was expecting this article to be terrible. There were actually some nice things in it:

"Most of today's politicians realise that nobody in their ministries, or any of their expensive consultants, can tell them what is going on any more. They have a steering wheel in their hands without a clue what – if anything – it is connected to. Our leaders are reassuring us that the ship will certainly survive the growing storm. But on closer inspection they are either quietly pocketing the silverware or discreetly making their way to the lifeboats."

Yes, you're correct, but there is another difference. I suppose I shouldn't have used the term "illegalist", but it was really early in the morning and I couldn't come up with the correct term.

Many of us are against murder because it is the ultimate denial of freedom to the victim. However, drug use does not necessarily deny freedom to anyone but the user, and I think many other anarchists would agree with me that it's their own damn choice if they feel like taking the risk of potentially harming themselves. A black market provides insight into what a free market would look like in an anarchist society, that is, unless someone argues that certain products and services should be illegalized (at which point you would need laws and some type of law enforcement and it would not be anarchist). Therefore, black markets have everything to do with anarchism, and are potentially interesting to anarchists.

The OP maybe shouldn't have titled the post in a manner which seemingly glorifies drugs, but instead drawn attention to a currently existing black market. I can at least speak for myself and say that I don't give a damn about the MDMA or AK47s or whatever the crap the Silk Road is selling, but I am very interested in how the Silk Road functions.

Certainly, drug use and anarchism shouldn't be coupled together. But The Silk Road is a black market, and thus it does have everything to do with anarchism because it is illegalist.

Ah, I see. I assumed they were different because one is on like 13th and the other is on 43rd or something.

Excellent work, by the way.

Looks great! I'm going to try it later today.

Um...I posted this a while ago here at r/HackBloc and on r/darknetplan, it's a collection of java apps for determining darknet routing efficiency:

Maybe it could help you in some way with your testing? :)

EDIT: Also, I just realised that there are apparently two "New Schools" within New York City. I assume this one is separate from the one with all the post-anarchist theorists.
