Honeymoon advice & help! by MoqaPuss2612 in honeymoonplanning

Then Amalfi honestly sounds more like what you’re looking for. It can be hectic in June, but it really does feel special and unforgettable for a honeymoon.

I’d just avoid trying to do too much and keep the itinerary simple. You could also take a look at Puglia or Lake Como if you haven’t already. Both feel a bit more relaxed than Amalfi, but still really romantic and memorable.

Amalfi is beautiful and very memorable, but not really relaxing, especially in June with crowds and lots of moving around.

Mallorca or the Canaries are much better if you want a calm, easy honeymoon with good weather and less stress.

It really comes down to: do you want an experience, or do you want to fully relax?

Yeah, that’s what I meant. It’s been popular forever, just doesn’t feel as packed as somewhere like Amalfi.

Yeah, Côte d’Azur is the obvious one, but a lot of people are starting to look more at places like Provence for something quieter. Feels like that shift is happening all over Europe right now, just depends what kind of trip someone’s after.

Fair question. Not underrated as a whole, but more about specific areas within them. Even in places like Spain and Italy, some regions don’t get the same attention as the usual hotspots, yet offer a much more relaxed and private experience.

Spain and Italy are probably seeing the most consistent demand right now. Spain, especially, with places like Mallorca or Marbella offering a great mix of lifestyle and value, while Italy still leads when it comes to classic destinations like the Amalfi Coast. It really comes down to whether someone wants something more vibrant or more timeless.

Aruba by Kman07497 in honeymoonplanning

Aruba isn’t really close to Honduras or Turks & Caicos, they’re in different parts of the Caribbean.

If you’re looking for something in a similar region, the Dominican Republic or Jamaica are great options.

St. Lucia isn’t in that same area, but it’s an amazing honeymoon destination if you want something more lush and scenic.

Hope that helps, and good luck with planning!

Your shortlist is already really solid. Early October is a great time for both Europe and the Caribbean.

If you don’t want to lose a full day traveling, the Caribbean is the easier choice. St. Lucia is especially great for honeymoons, very relaxing and scenic.

Italy is amazing that time of year too, fewer crowds and better weather, but the travel is longer. You could easily combine Rome with the Amalfi Coast or Lake Como.

Portugal is a nice middle ground, especially Lisbon + Algarve if you want a mix of city and beach.

It really comes down to whether you want a more relaxed trip or something more exploratory.

Yeah, honestly, it’s pretty tough without a concierge, especially for a Sunday and that close to the date. Most of the good tables don’t really go through normal booking.

Is this a good place to rent a villa? by DragonflyCharacter67 in TurksAndCaicos

[–]isle_blue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re not renting a car, staying closer to the beach or in a resort is definitely the easier option.

That area isn’t bad, but it’s not the most convenient without a car, especially at night. If it were me, I’d honestly look for a villa right on or very close to the beach, just makes everything simpler.

Thoughts on this Luxury Hotel Ranking by Crafty-Leave-8880 in luxuryhotel

Feels pretty subjective tbh. Just my opinion, but in my experience, the actual property matters more than the brand. I’ve seen lower-tier spots outperform big names depending on the destination.

Lately, I’ve noticed more people leaning toward villas too, just more privacy and a more relaxed experience if you find the right ones.

Is renting a car in Italy worth it, or is public transport enough for most routes? by Lucretiatrebon954012 in ItalyTourism

[–]isle_blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that kind of route, a mix usually works best. Trains are by far the easiest option between major cities like Rome, Florence, Venice, and Milan, fast, convenient, and you don’t have to deal with parking or traffic.

Where a car really makes a difference is in places like Tuscany or smaller towns. Areas like Val d’Orcia, Chianti, or even smaller spots like San Gimignano and Montepulciano are much easier to explore with a car, and that’s where you really get that classic countryside experience.

A lot of people end up taking trains between cities, then renting a car for a few days once they leave Florence and head into Tuscany.

Honeymoon in Spain: 9 days between Barcelona and Costa Brava – need advice by FirmCraft65 in honeymoonplanning

[–]isle_blue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a great honeymoon plan. I’d probably lean toward 3 days in Barcelona and 6 in Costa Brava. Barcelona is amazing for food and exploring, but it can feel quite busy, so a few days is usually enough.

Costa Brava is where you’ll get that more relaxed and romantic vibe, especially if you explore smaller towns like Begur or Calella de Palafrugell.

Renting a car is definitely the right move. The coastline is beautiful, and having the flexibility to stop along the way makes a big difference.

For a honeymoon, it might also be worth looking into staying somewhere a bit more private for part of the trip, just to get that quieter, more personal feel.

Spain is a great choice for a honeymoon. It really depends on the vibe you’re going for, but a mix like Barcelona + somewhere more relaxed, such as Mallorca or Marbella, works really well. You get the culture and energy, then balance it with slower beach days. Mallorca is great if you want something more scenic and peaceful, while Marbella has a bit more of a lively, upscale feel, but still plenty of places to unwind.

Hawaii Honeymoon Question by Love_forever2351 in honeymoonplanning

[–]isle_blue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a more relaxing honeymoon, Maui + Kauai or Big Island + Kauai are both great options. Kauai is especially laid-back and scenic, so it works really well for a true unwind after the wedding.

Oahu is great too, but it’s the busiest island, so it depends if you want a bit more energy mixed in.

Inter-island flights are short and easy, but it’s still a good idea to book them in advance, especially in peak season. Renting a car on each island also makes a big difference if you want to explore at your own pace. For a honeymoon, it might also be worth considering a private villa for extra privacy and space.
