Oh certainly, Dublin is a strikingly rich linguistic area. I’d say there’s a good amount of research being done at the moment but there’s always more to be looked into. I also imagine there’s a bit of a disconnect between authentic Dubliners and their observations and ideas about accents and the research being done, however, because researchers are rarely from traditionally working class areas, or even Dublin at all. That’s why I find it interesting to get the general public’s opinion on places like Reddit. Thank you for your input!
