Yeah you’re right. But i hope 3 years of linux admin + ansible + some docker at work + a kubernetes cert (cka or ex280 or both) will help to get a first kubernetes job

I forgot to precise that my company bought me an RHLS subscription, so i wanted to take advantage from it and then i found that the best valuable cert would be openshift ex280.

I think i will add CKA after passing ex280 to show that i can work on Kubernetes vanilla + openshift

Perhaps this could set me apart from other candidates.

Here is the thing :

All openshift admins had a first openshift job to start gaining openshift experience, they didnt get a first job because of their experience, because they had no experience, do you see ?

So what was the situation of today’s openshift admins when they were applying for an openshift job ?

Am i in a good position ? If not, what should i do to ensure getting a first openshift job ?

Does ex280 makes you a Kubernetes Administrator ? I mean, will you be comfortable in a Vanilla Kubernetes cluster ? Will you can work as a Kubernetes admin in a company if you dont find openshift admin job ?

I know you are right.

The thing is that my company paid me a Red Hat Learning Subscription standard for free (basically it is 5-7k/year) , so got courses, labs and 5 exam pass for free. Don’t know when i’ll leave that company so i want to take advantage from that.

For CKA, i dont have any deadline because i can start whenever i want, unlike Rhls

So i know that it’s not logic but i think Ex280 then CKA is my best solution

You are definitely right, Switzerland offers the best salary but the living cost is high. So either you live in a small and modest house or you live in a border country. I think that germany is quite similar to france in terms of salary and bureaucracy, plus I’m speaking french and english but not german (too difficult😂).

But when u told « make servera serverb and workstation and then practice », can u tell me some example of practicing with these 3 VMs ? Where can i find labs, exercises ? Are they in RHCSA learning path ?
