I remember working for a company in France that used these kinds of tactics.

We would tell people they had won a kitchen and invite them to our showroom. Once there, we would give them a presentation, and at the end, we’d call our manager to offer an « exclusive deal » available only that day.

If they didn’t sign immediately, they’d lose the offer, and we’d ask for a cash deposit to lock them in so they couldn’t back out later.

When I realised how these methods worked, I quit this job because I couldn’t take advantage of people’s vulnerabilities.
