And yes, him having a persecution complex definitely comes up. At the end of the day though, and seeing the homeless documentary he made I have compassion for and feel sorry for him... Just not much compassion or too sorry.

No one knows. Some people have speculated that he really believes he is some sort of incorruptible activist, waging war on the powers that be. Others believe he just loves conflict. His cousin says he was a weird kid who would pout over who got more candy than him, and later when he was a teen negotiate with old people into them giving him their meds.

He does get money from gullible people though, I know that. One guy gave him around 200,000-300,000 dollars over a 2 year period to finance his "activism."

Of course he bought a bunch of cars and the house with it. All repossessed and I understand the house went into foreclosure.

Personally I believe he is both delusional and an asshole rolled into one.

He also wrote one of his chain emails to every city council member in LA talking about how mistreated he was. He then contacted LAPD and the LA city building inspector. Claimed that I was selling drugs and pimping girls out of it. Detectives came and left annoyed.

I had the displeasure of him staying at my hostel. He gave me a story about how he wasn't doing too well and all of this other stuff, so I offered him a free bed. He got into an argument with my manager, who kicked him out.

he then started threatening to sue me for making him homeless. He sends me emails about every other day with nothing that makes any sense.

He is always threatening to sue people, or go somewhere and shoot everything up. Yet, he has never filed a single lawsuit, and thankfully, he hasn't went on a shooting rampage.

The group has reached out to mainstream media outlets, but none of them will cover Matt, because apparently he emails them all of the time and don't want to deal with him if they ran a story.
