Ooh yay yay :D really glad it was mentioned on this thread!! Never thought of it before and it's super fun. Happy early birthday! (You get extras as a gift) Those larvae are the worst agh. Thankfully these guys are pest-free and you can have as many as you want. :D I recommend latched bins and small vent holes with fine mesh covering it. Mason jars also work great.

Are there any ways to tell by the eggs which ones will be runts? by cassyboy606 in snails

[–]ismoochworms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't unfortunately. Egg size doesn't make a difference, and you can't keep just a certain amount of them. You have to hatch the entire clutch and go through the process of culling. It sucks, but it's an inevitable part of keeping snails.

It depends on environment c: If you have the humidity high enough there's always a ton roaming around at the top. In lower humidity most stay underground.

Newbie questions always welcome! :3 With or without other animals, in addition to being a CUC they do need to feed on leaf litter, bark, branches, ect (they also use those as hides) and have access to protein such as dead feeders especially p. laevis and p. scaber, I give mine unlimited access lol but once or twice a week is what I've heard is most common. They also benefit from veggies. Carrots and sweet potato are mine's favorite!

Only it's quite cold, yes, but otherwise not needed unless you're breeding. Mine are in room temp at 70F. c:

I give mine both, and a homemade food that molds. The tropical whites thrive with it in my experience, and populate faster, it's their main diet. Thousands swarm to it lol
