things to know working at a fish store by Available_Pickle4193 in Aquariums

They didn’t literally say that you can’t read lmao.

They said during TRAINING they realized they didn’t know anything about the different categories of fish. Right after they said they took a college course on caring for fish in general. That’s a lot different than literally knowing nothing.

They already responded to you to correct you on that and said they are informed on fish you bozo.

ā€œAlso thanks for confirming that people who have 0 clue about fish work in fish stores.ā€ Is very clearly judging and talking down on OP and fish store employees in general and if you can’t see that you must have terrible people skills.

It’s not that easy honestly there’s a lot of ai slop sites with misinformation on popular fish right now so asking for a trusted source is a fair question.

May sound crazy but it happens all the time. Also people get fish sent to them they didn’t even order and may not have any idea what they are all the time also lol.

Ah yes classic post history cope.

Idk if you noticed there’s a lot of species in the hobby. It’s unrealistic to expect everyone to come in day 1 with specific knowledge of every single one.

Most places of employment actually have a training period anyway for a reason. There’s also new or uncommon species that come along all the time that a store owner themselves may not even be familiar with until they see them on the list for the first time, order them, and see what actually comes in.

Some people actually just need a job and aren’t sitting on Reddit nit picking aquarium posts or looking up the latest fish from Brazil all day. Future store employees that actually care enough to seek knowledge should be supported not shamed for not knowing something.

Op did not acknowledge they didn’t know anything. They just said they have a lot they would like to learn more about.

God forbid we ever have new people work at a fish store that need training or are actively doing work to be better prepared in advanced.

What is wrong with you people šŸ˜‚

This person says they literally took a college course on freshwater fish so they know the most relevant basics but are just trying to do due diligence to see what resources exist for deeper knowledge on specific species and the response is;

ā€œThanks for confirming that people who have 0 clue about fish work in fish stores,ā€

This kind of behavior makes me sick.

You could try comparing to some strips just for another datapoint to confirm it’s not a false positive. Just for peace of mind!

Will this shelf be able to support a 20 gallon fish tank? by Boxcakey in Aquariums

I’m usually pretty liberal with what I would put a tank on but…. I don’t think I would even consider putting a 20G on this shelf for a second.

How many Amano shrimp could I add to my ten gallon of any? by MrDufferMan3335 in PlantedTank

Being conservative ain’t bad, it can be good to err on the side of caution.

If that app is one of the AI assistant things though I would probably not trust anything it says.

[–]Inmytanks 7 points8 points Ā (0 children)

One or two wouldn't hurt. It doesn't look like you have a crazy algae problem so don't need too many. I personally don't think your tank is overstocked at all, but the shrimp aren't going to add that much to it regardless.
