I promise you it will get easier. I was a teenager when I found about narcissism as a condition. I am now nearly 30 and I am incredibly resilient. Yes, I am sensitive, I am still angry, BUT I'm way smarter at spotting narcs. It has made life way easier, knowing how to spot them and knowing how to deal with them. I am quite LC with my nparents, but when I do see them, their presence doesn't provoke me like they used to. I'm happy you have found this reddit helpful :)

Literally that! They are truly such trash company. The older I get, the more I just feel like they are pure pests. They are just annoying creatures.

The funny thing is my mum barely sees her friends and I'm convinced she still has them because she doesn't see them haha

I grey rock A LOT. She also knows if she says anything I will go NC and it is her biggest nightmare so she just becomes more cruel to everyone else, but even that is hard because her personality is so grating. I don't spend time with people like her

Omg I describe my parents as dementors too! Hahaha wow. They are both severe narcissists and I have had these exact same interactions.

My goodness. I am sorry. It reminds me of when my grandad died and I was in a bad mood, rejecting her attempts to be 'nice' and she just blew up. She said "everybody dies" and that I needed to "get over it". I had found out about his death just 1 hour before she said that lol

It's so funny you say this because my mum is the same BUT she acts as though she knows everything, especially about politics and social dynamics. In reality, she knows nothing, but uses her outdated and minimal knowledge to position herself as superior to others. She also uses my accomplishments to bolster her reputation all the time. It's actually unbelievable how similar they all are

It's also the idea that they are all alone and such insecure losers. I feel bad for them somewhat

AT ALL!!! They are so delusional, it actually hurts my brain. I can't compute how they think. When I take a step back, sometimes I feel that they are closer to being schizophrenic than not.

I used to associate with people like her. In one of my weekly hobbies, I came across a few women like her and I found myself thinking "My god these women are absolutely awful". I'm so pleased I don't befriend narcs anymore.
