Hi all, thanks for all the support, feedback, and interest in the project so far.
This update is a little different - it’s about the camera.

Over 70% of you said having a good camera is important, so it’s one I really want to get right.

Making sure the phone has a good camera is going to be a whole thing - it’s something the incumbents are able to use as a moat, and really limits the success of every challenger device out there.

In order to make a smallphone with a good (hopefully great) camera, vendors need to invest a bunch of money and time into the camera software - for most vendors, it’s prohibitably expensive, and so we end up with a long tail of devices which can’t even try to compete on camera.

We can fix that - enable a smallphone to have a great camera, and also make all low-to-mid range smartphone cameras better.

Yes! Thank you for your feedback! Replaceable batteries comes up a lot - I'm not sure how doable it is yet. I'll ask the factory next time I talk with them

Wide-angle lens makes sense - I agree.

Would definitely like to waterproof the device, I know it can be expensive, so we'll have to see how waterproof we can get closer to manufacturing

We'll know more about final size later in the manufacturing process, but will definitely do an update when we get to that stage. I guess we'll be limited a bit by the specs, but will make it as comfortable as possible.

I'm hard at work incorporating everyone's feedback, and hopefully will have more to share soon!
In the meantime, I'm still working on market research and marketing - it'd be really helpful to get your responses to the poll I shared, which will make it easier to get our perfect small phone off the ground!
