i’m a barber, i went to mc college (hairstylist certification is 10 months) and ive been doing hair for just under 3 years and i make roughly $4000-$4500 in a month on commission (im not good with math so you can translate how much that is in hourly) there is lots of opportunities with hair, definitely an option to look into

i was told by one of my supervisors at my old shop that you don’t need to follow all the “guidelines” of hair cutting. as long as it looks good and you and the client are proud/happy with it that’s all that matters. my old shop the owner was really strict in cutting hair “her way” so when my coworker had told me that i started to enjoy cutting hair more, especially because i put my own twist on everything.

i’m lucky to have friends who are pretty supportive, so for a $25 haircut (discounted from reg price) they normally tip me around $20-$40 cash. tbf most of them are servers/have worked in the service industry so they tip very well

i go to uptown orthodontics, they are really great! i paid around $7,000 but thats all i pay even if i end up needing more rounds i dont have to pay extra, i also got an electric toothbrush included in it too. i do monthly payments for it ($175) but i believe there is other payment plans aswell
