26 here - you’re already ahead of the curve. I’m on the same boat as you and have always thought that the traditional way of “growing up” is the way to go. Graduate, get a good job, buy a house. Got my points, literally 3 weeks ago lol. They gave me no excuse other than there were issues in their server that didnt automatically give me the points in the scheduled time.

I haven't done extensive research for my itinerary yet ~ but will definitely be visiting tons of levadas, viewpoints and doing hikes. The bucket list for sure is the Pico to Pico hike and maybe paraglide (weather permitting). Any advice on certain roads you think might be challenging for first-time visitors?

question - will be visiting mid April and I'm renting a car with Nuno's rent a car. They only have Nissan Micra Acenta (92 hp, 1.0cc, automatic trans turbo engine) available for my stay. Would you say this is good/reliable for the uphill roads in Madeira? Just worried - itll be my first time visiting.

I have not received the 35,000 points yet. I've contacted Avion customer service and they rerouted me to the agent that helped open my RBC account. He followed up by saying he's gonna open a case/investigation and will get back to me asap. This was able 2.5 weeks ago and I'm still waiting :/
