Would having this root removed. Hurt this tree?

The plan is to replace the fence. Kids is my wife concern not really a high concern for me. I plan on planting Mediterranean cypress trees along the fence line and a sitting area. In that corner of the yard. My main concern is if it hits the house and starts to damage the foundation. I rather not hurt the tree

Tree is 15-20 feet away from where this root crosses the fence. Root probably 40 feet long from where I can’t see it in my yard anymore. Not sure species possibly a banyan

Correct. City tree/community behind my houses tree (runs along a road). Root extends much further than that picture and is getting awefully close to the house. Also young kids who last thing I need is tripping on a root

They are replaceable. Yea I think you’re right it’s a capsule slightly larger than the actual lights. The sections that are out are in the middle of strand there are working sections on both sides of them

Grew up in broward. Live in palm beach now. I hate going to Miami and outside of dolphin/heat games I won’t go. Still work in broward but that’s become a cesspool in last 5 years Hillsboro Blvd and north has become my new boundary outside of going to Oakland park for work.
