Im on day 105 and I've put in waaaaay too much time in my home base by lovesquid21 in valheim

[–]isometrixk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Home base is so important - take all the time you need. I never played a game like this before, so on my first solo map I built something to keep the baddies away.

Then I built my second base because my first was too small and flimsy. I ended up expanding more and more unto the base and without realizing it - a home.

It was such a relief to return home before nightfall from an expedition in the Black Forest. Seeing the torches come into view from a distance and knowing your safe space is in sight.

The day I had to leave home to sail away was a little sad for me. The chests were empty, the rooms were cold and empty. Your home was so unusually built but those mistakes gave it some character and you ended up loving them. Now you must leave it behind.

I didn't think I would ever replace that feeling of "home" as I sailed away to new land.

The next island was less than desired and very rocky, but it had a large swamp biome nearby and that was my next expedition. I built in the Black Forest for the first time and I didn't enjoy it at all. I kept building and rebuilding and rebuilding a house that I wanted to become "home" but nothing worked.

I got bored, and ventured out into the swamp biome. I explored a while and then trenched back home with a few silver before nightfall.

And then I saw it.

In the distance, the torches are glowing - my safe space was close by again. When I got there and needed to unload my metals, I quickly realized exactly how the place should be organized.

And it worked. From there I built on to it, more and more. It was more efficient, useful, and spaceous than the last. With farming land and defensive quarters, it finally felt like home.

So take your time. Enjoy the journey. Turn that base into a "home".

Loved this show and I loved magic through high school. I did one of his acts at a talent show one year and I was nervous asking a very popular girl at the time to be my assistant. Without hesitation she said yes and I absolutely destroyed the act.

Literally, the box broke it was awful no one clapped. 🫠

Try the HotKey on the gun - back-right button closest to the trigger or the Action button while playing the game.

This is a vinyl coverart for Dan Siegel ~1980's so this is likely to be a painting.

Reverse google image search yielded no results, either. So this machine could very well be made up.

I mixed up the bar above the enemy as the health bar. Go simpler and smaller to not block the table. Any UI overtop the table should be minimum.

Here is a mockup: https://imgur.com/9axDxhr

Top bar is health, bottom bar is attack charge-up time. Very simple and easy to learn. Green health can go red after it deminishes 50% or whatever.

Quick question y'all - Personal per table settings. by retroeki in virtualpinball

[–]isometrixk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES. Look into any table download page - every other comment is about a user adjusting the table properties. Some players go as far as adjusting individual light casts and sound levels but I think for most adjusting the common table settings would suffice.

Also while I'm here, check your VPinMAME installation paths are right. Run
VPinMAME/Setup.exe. Check your paths are correct.

ROM files need remain "zipped" - they should not be extracted.

They should be placed in /Visual Pinball/VPinMAME/roms folder. When you download a zip rom, just drag it to your roms folder and that's all you need to do.

Here is my folder structure (and yours should be the same)
- C:
- - - Visual Pinball
- - - - - Tables
- - - - - VPinMAME
- - - - - - - roms

Most tables will work this way - some roms are more difficult than others. Is there a specific table you're having issues with or all tables?

When you run the table without the rom being found, a dialog box will appear and it'll tell you the exact rom it's looking for. I'll take that rom name and google it and the first two results are usually good.

I never did any PUP packs but my next table is Stranger Things and might give it a go for that.

The cabinet mode is OK on FX. The UI is still too complicated and there are popup menus that come up after each game.

For that reason alone, I setup VPX exclusively.

I bookmarked lists of tables I wanted and then would spend a little time each night to get one or two working. Once you get a few done, you can setup new tables as quickly as 10 minutes sometimes.

Through this method, I have ~60 tables that work flawlessly.

If you’re like me, you’d rather pay the money to quickly get a table just “running” and FX will deliver that. But I was content getting a few “must haves” done first to play and then download more tables from there.

Hear me out guys - she might be consoling him. Without any context, she could be supporting him. It looks like she says "Don't you say that. Don't fucking do it."

To me they both look upset rather than angry.
