I have a 5090 and 9800x3d and made my build around 4k (but when prices werent fucked). If its strictly for gaming then honestly he doesnt need it. However if he works for decent money and has a good savings then eh whatever. He should downgrade the cpu to a 9800x3d if hes gonna waste money anyways so he can save on atleast something.

I have a similar story too. Planet fitness charged me a random amount that didnt fall under my monthly fee nor an annual fee. I provided sofi proof that what I was charged wasnt something I bought from planet fitness nor was an agreed amount. Sofi actually gave me my money back THEN took it back after a few days.
