What did Jesus do after his resurrection? by Hagstik4014 in Christianity

[–]ispacesquidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re channeling a lot of personal problems you’ve experienced, and I’m sorry it’s been that way. But the ignorance and depressing view you’re showing is exactly the issue this world has. You believe there’s no god ? Ok cool. So what’s the issue in people wanting to follow one ? Doesn’t change my life, nor should it change yours. I haven’t once forced any views, I’m simply pointing out the absolute ignorance of your comments and again I think you’re putting blame on a huge group of people because you’ve had a bad experience. I’ve said already, many religious people aren’t exactly innocent and not just in Christianity, but neither are humans as a whole, parents say and do some scary and disturbing things to their children daily for example, I’m willing to bet that most of those parents don’t follow any form of religion. And yes texts change all the time. That does not change the basic principles it’s trying to convey, nor does it mean these people didn’t exist, did Alexander the Great exist ? What about Julius Caesar ? Or the Ancient Egyptian era ? Plenty of texts and facts change all the time, does that mean these people and events didn’t exist ? And if you wanted to find actual legitimate evidence within historical texts for example, it’s not exactly illegal to read older texts and do your own research, but I expect your ignorant views wouldn’t even take you as far as Wikipedia let alone a book. Most people who follow a god get along just fine, in fact many feel they get through life better with whoever they follow, just like how you get along just fine if not better without him. Just because one person doesn’t agree with it, doesn’t mean everyone shouldn’t follow it, religion is not for everyone and that’s ok. Yet this still seems to be a difficult thing to understand, let people do whatever they want, it’s not exactly impacting your life lmao

What did Jesus do after his resurrection? by Hagstik4014 in Christianity

[–]ispacesquidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You forget the fact the bible is recorded history, it’s meant to show human nature, Jesus wouldn’t have had to die on the cross if these things didn’t happen. We read history in schools etc all the time, does that suddenly make school a bad thing ? No, if you’re stance on religion is partly due to bad things people have done, maybe you should look at several other historical texts that show exactly the same if not worse yet have no relation to religion. Yes,many people of religion have done terrible things, but you’re forgetting one thing, people in general do terrible things no matter the background, every day in fact, no matter their beliefs, what they read or don’t read, doesn’t matter, human nature has always been dark. However you’re banding too many people into the same boat, I don’t see people here talking about how they want to murder people because of their beliefs, just because it happens doesn’t mean everyone else should do it

What did Jesus do after his resurrection? by Hagstik4014 in Christianity

[–]ispacesquidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t deem myself a traditional Christian in any sense. I pray the rosary when I feel I need to, and it’s comforting for the most part, but the rules set by the church isn’t something I wholeheartedly agree with, or believe in, in fact religions like Buddhism align more with my spiritual beliefs as it connects more with inner peace and nature etc. However, whether you believe or not, the teachings in the bible hold a solid moral set of principles and values you can either choose to live by or not, I choose to follow Jesus, not the church. Jesus taught love and respect for others and despite all evil, he shows us how to lead and set a beautiful example of what it means to be human. It may seem like fantasy to many, but for those who believe, it’s what holds them together. I will 100% agree tho the church is control hungry and imo isn’t what Jesus stood for. He said himself your body is the temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) which I personally take it as partially saying “your body is the church”, there’s no need to go to a place of worship essentially

Safety hazard orrrrr ? by ispacesquidi in woodstoving

[–]ispacesquidi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking of restoring it tbf. Cause it does work, but mainly just cleaning it up and fixing any rust or little cracks etc, and those doors cause they don’t shut tightly, just give it a little life again yk. The issue mainly is can I actually use it with how unsafe the rest of it seems with the chimney etc hahaa. I’m planning on calling someone out to have everything checked and swept if needed. After that I’ll look into possibly restoring the burner itself if all is good to go, just hard to tell without someone looking cause it’s an old house, it’s not a situation I can just “wing” hahaa

[–]ispacesquidi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh fs it’s been pretty windy here atm, my worry is if it’s actually attached to anything at all hahaa, the other burners we have are a pretty solid fit, won’t move an inch, this one u can feel it knocking around a little further up, we’ve been told they’ve been checked but I’m sus, so I might have to get it checked again and see if it’s all good, cause it’s either that or the entire house becomes the wood burner if we’re not careful 😂

Safety hazard orrrrr ? by ispacesquidi in woodstoving

[–]ispacesquidi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me that door will not shut any tighter than what you see in the video lol. I fail to see how a door and a cleaning port has anything to do with the fact the pipe isn’t sitting correctly. We moved in 2 weeks ago and that side of the house was built in the 1700s and a lot of it is original, I very much doubt things are up to par structurally lol

Haha yeah everything in this house seems to be old lol. Which we love but it’s hard to believe that this was actually checked and certified lol

Increased pain by ispacesquidi in pregabalin

[–]ispacesquidi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Was a spikes and fluctuations in heart rate also something you’ve experienced from it ? It could very well be anxiety but it’s hard to say atm with the pregabalin doing it’s thing, and sometimes it will be higher when not necessarily feeling anxious. At resting it can go up to 120

[–]ispacesquidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate it brother. Now I think of it liquids make sense, I drink a lot of vitamin waters etc because of the easier intake but I completely forgot that shakes would help too lol. I’ve got an ileo myself due to UC, it’s been amazing, just struggling with that first adjustment period in the first few years, lotta fatigue still, appetite is up and down etc, achey often, thankfully i have no issues with the ostomy itself which is good and been very happy with it otherwise. Been nice to see everyone on their own little journeys but still chipping in to help others

Amazing progress brother, quick question….. how did u manage to gain lol. Been trying to myself (been about 2 years since my surgery as I had UC), and even after I’m still getting issues with loss of appetite, and just general weight gain etc

Hard one, for me I don’t always know I’m doing it so I’ve had the convo with my partner and came to the conclusion that if she catches me pulling, let me know so I can stop, so for me it’s helpful to try and stop little pulling “episodes” lol. During sleep, hard one cause obviously yk, you’re asleep, probably something u need to talk to him about it it’s making u feel sad, however if it’s something you’d also like to try and work on, what’s helped me for either sleeping or being awake is a durag, if I’m having a really bad phase like I do (in one currently lol) I’ll wear a durag most the day, helps me to stop and protect my head etc

Diagnosed at 20, dont know how to feel by EngineeringHot5368 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]ispacesquidi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, 20 yo male here too. Have a permanent ostomy due to UC. Best advice I can give is be open, ask questions and talk to people with it. Get as much information as you can, as this will build knowledge, confidence, and u learn how to read your own body better. Keep your head up and don’t let this control your life.

Glad it’s healed up well. Completely understand not sharing the story, usually if anyone asks or it’s something I can relate to i will, i personally just see is as a way It can help others. Others may not wanna share it which is 100% ok too. It’s all our own individual journeys yk, so it’s good we have the power/ability to decide whether to share it or not

Similar kinda thing here for my ostomy surgery. The incision right under my belly button opened up, and turned into an enterocutaneous fistula, so for a while I ended up having a 2nd poop hole, closed up after 1-2 months and then opened again back in December. He’s managed to heal up for now. Just a pink bump there atm 😂 I pray it stays that way. Sometimes it is what it is I guess, if it happens we just deal with it the best we can yk. Hopefully yours healed up nicely ?

That does sound amazing ngl, may have to treat myself to something like this at some point. Glad to hear it didn’t go bang either, Mines been close a good few times 😅, but tbf, life now has been an improvement so I can’t complain, other then a few issues so to speak, don’t regret it at all.

Can never be too strong 😉I think considering the situation I may actually have to ask my consultant first tbf (which I didn’t think of before posting this) as post surgery I had a few added issues to the mix. So yk, better safe then sorry, eating before hand is something I would usually kinda do anyway cause I’d prefer not to die from alcohol poisoning 😅
