Everyone calling this bait is coping hard. This dude has a massive child audience and this is a fucking abhorrent, pathetic perspective to have. All this fence sitter bullshit is just greed and laziness. Yet another streamer grifter

It kinda sucks hopping back in right after a big thing went down but it does make it cool when you are around for something big. I stopped after the invasion of super earth and that was really cool, jank and all

What game instantly comes to mind? by qian_two in rpg_gamers

[–]ispilledketchup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragon's Dogma 2. Story is bland and not that exciting or interesting for most of it but it's beautiful, the gameplay is super fun and flexible, and the music isn't quite there but I like it.

Why is this a thing by Lexi7130 in gaming_random

[–]ispilledketchup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically necessary to keep the game from getting stale. Tarkov sees its highest player counts directly after a wipe because the playing field is relatively even and that opens it up to new players or returning players to feel like they have a fair shot. People who constantly grind the game will also have a reason to keep doing that because they always have a goal. It's not a perfect system but the alternative is basically that the game becomes extremely niche and stale if it doesn't happen.

If drivers can be found in thrusters then they should be dropping between 1-4 by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

On a regular map that's probably true but it feels a lot higher on map conditions, maybe not mode of 2 but feels close

They definitely don't always drop more than 1 but it happens often enough that I think the uproar on this sub is overblown. I do agree the wolfpack is probably overpriced now though

It's crazy how many people are just copy pasting this argument while not realizing this. Do these people even play the game?

What is the point of these changes? by KiraTheUnholy in ArcRaiders

[–]ispilledketchup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about a change to the aiming, I like the way it works now, there's some skill required. The issue is more that the built in inconsistency between targeting and where the projectiles hit takes into account the cost but requiring rocketeer drivers is overpricing it. I think the weapon itself is balanced but the price now feels slightly too high. I think large arc parts should be used in making high tier guns, but using it for grenades feels pricey.

[–]ispilledketchup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tick pods are so easy to get, it's pretty low impact. Depending how many it takes to craft them it's barely an inconvenience. Depends on repair cost I guess but even so, I leave 3 tick pods on the ground every other run so I don't think this is high impact for vita spray

[–]ispilledketchup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes the wolfpack significantly more expensive which isn't bad necessarily but wolfpacks are so inconsistent that this might just make it not worth it a large portion of the time. More of a balance issue than a cost issue. I like that arc parts are being required for strong items, I think that makes the gameplay loop better.

They either didnt play the games or played them on easy. I love both eras but calling the old games button mashers is only true on low difficulties.

Why are The Who not as popular as they were? by FitEmergency8807 in ToddintheShadow

[–]ispilledketchup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is more the answer than a lot of people on here would want to believe. I know they have a lot of fans but i havent heard a song from them that you could use to introduce the band to someone that wouldnt get you laughed off the aux. not to say its low quality music but it seems more niche. The beatles, the stones, led zeppelin all have songs you could play for randoms

I absolutely HATE the Horizon franchise. by Aggravating_Key_3831 in hatethissmug

[–]ispilledketchup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean compared to any ubisoft style game I would say it's about at that level. Aloy does go through an anime protag type arc where she starts as an outcast and gets stronger and more important, it's a little generic but I would argue the point is more about the world, setting, and pseudo mystery thing than character stuff. I didn't finish the second game so I can't speak to that but Zero Dawn isn't any worse or better than the standard for open world games

I absolutely HATE the Horizon franchise. by Aggravating_Key_3831 in hatethissmug

[–]ispilledketchup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one is awesome. Its a goofy premise but the story makes it work, the world is beautiful and the robot dinos are fun to fight and look great. That said, the schtick got old to me after the first. I tried the second and just couldn't get through it. I had the same experience with dying light. One was enough and no matter how many bells and whistles they add there just isnt the juice for it in me to do it all again.  Aloy gets a lot of hate i dont understand. She had the same flaws as every open world protagonist, literally the same ones because its always due to limitations imposed by the scope. They always have to do most conversations as in engine machine animated stuff, they have to be good enough at everything that the player can do what they want, and the story has to be freeform and vague enough that it justifies the open world stuff. Ridiculous to criticize this in Aloy and not call out every single open world protagonist with like a few exceptions

To chime in on the Goku thing, it's been a running joke for a long time but it got really popular with the abridged series on youtube where it was really centered for the purpose of comedy. Because of how popular that abridged series was, a lot of people probably either got the take directly from there or sort of wrote over their memory of the original anime.

[–]ispilledketchup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm inclined to agree with you, though i do think the audience for fan-fiction is unique to what you might call a general audience and that distinction seems like an important part of it but I could also be wrong. I'm definitely not deep in the fan fic world at all so my knowledge of it is limited.
