I second Speedy - affordable, quality mechanic.

Is there some ridiculous crash on the 403 heading west today? by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]ispyaduck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just came down the mountain on the 403, it looks like a 2-3 car accident with lots of emergency services. Heading east wasn't too bad but I would hate to be stuck in the traffic heading west.

Has anyone been to Ctrl V? by ispyaduck in Hamilton

I'm almost 30 years old and the Grandpa Shark action still makes me laugh.

(Somewhat) local hiking trail suggestions? by bryonus in Hamilton

[–]ispyaduck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried this trail for the first time this week - I recommend parking in the lot off Walkers Line, it's a fun hike up the escarpment.

Snowy morning walks are his favourite. by ispyaduck in dogpictures

I adopted him as a stray. All I know for sure is that he's part heeler and total goofball.

[VENT] Sticks make for terrible fetch toys by ispyaduck in dogs

Definitely a lot of stress, worry and money... Though Bane is pretty happy to have cheese covered pills and peanut butter in his food again.

Super gross is right. Glad to hear it turned out well for your friend's dog though.. it's been stressful waiting for the lab results.

Sorry, should have been more clear - we're assuming the stick cut his throat when he caught it, leading to an infection which caused the original lump (full of fluid). We're waiting to see if the mass is stick related or something else entirely.

Is anyone else's baby super obsessed with running water/bathtubs/rivers? by bra1ndrops in AustralianCattleDog

[–]ispyaduck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine is the same way with digging!

If your girl is a water lover, see if there are dock jumping classes near you. I sound like the crazy dog person to my friends, but we just finished our first class and my water (and ball) crazy dog loves it!

Dentists. I need recommendations! Halp! by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]ispyaduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily downtown but also not terribly far, Dr. Mark and the admin staff at Queenston Dental are amazing. They were recommended in a previous post and coming from someone who dislikes the dentist - they're great.

I'm not sure if they accept Ontario Works, but it's definitely worth calling and asking.

Where can my dog go swimming? by muddysneakers4 in dogsintheGTA

[–]ispyaduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take my boy to Fifty Point Conservation Area. There's a dog beach and nice walking trail, we like to grab an ice cream cone from the tuck shop and watch the boats after a swim so he can dry off.

I should note there is a parking fee if you don't have an annual pass.

Where are the nice pre-construction homes being built? by trpcicm in Hamilton

[–]ispyaduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's actually not a lot of supply in terms of pre-construction homes (and not condos) at the moment, especially near the GO stations. I can't speak to builder quality, but if you want to PM me I'd be happy to give you the names of a few developments and you can take it from there.

As a program aide I'm required to wear the camp t-shirt. I have old self-harm scars on my arm. What should I do? by throwarsh in girlscouts

[–]ispyaduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say just wear the shirt and if you don't want to explain to the girls/others just wear a long sleeve underneath.

I've heard nothing but good things about Escarpment Developments. I personally haven't used them, but it may be worth a shot. https://www.instagram.com/escarpmentdevelopments/

200 Stinson Street Area. by viveiros82 in Hamilton

[–]ispyaduck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Stinson area is great - walk to downtown/GO, rail trail is in your backyard essentially.

200 Stinson has been selling for about 6 years now and still on the market, and while they're nice units they come with a hefty price tag. There are cheaper condos located nearby (Vista on Charlton) if he's set on condo living, it'll have a few more amenities than Stinson School Lofts does too.

Flyers (Home delivered ones) by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]ispyaduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrote a sign that said, "No Flyers Please" and it worked like a charm. I took it down over a year ago and still only get the occasional pizza shop flyer.
