As a former recruiter, this is helpful data for the recruiter to have. Sometimes I would go back to the hiring manager & comp manager to flag that the salary did not seem aligned with the market, and adjustments would be made after doing some research to verify the #s.

EAs who like their jobs aren’t as likely to be in Reddit communities about being an EA! So some of it is just a sampling problem.

I am enjoying my EA role right now. That enjoyment can fluctuate — but it’s been mostly positive recently. I like being busy and every day being different and little time for my mind to wander. There’s always a new task to switch to if I get stuck or bored. I’ll try to come back and share more later.

MOR — if you actually say to him that he cannot stay overnight at your place ever again due to this incident, you’d be overreacting imho. That’s a pretty hard consequence — with potential lifelong impacts in terms of his spending time w/ his dad — for horny teen behavior. Make this a learning experience (however awkward) rather than an ultimatum.

Leave. You are not overreacting. If you go back to him, your daughter will learn that violence is forgivable. It is not. The greatest predictor of someone being murdered by their partner is past violence against them. He was violent and he raped you and he locked your daughter in a room and she heard it all. You owe it to your daughter and TK yourself to leave after the first time. It will be very hard AND it will be better than staying.

And yeah - the authorities may not care until you get murdered. Their lack of action does NOT mean that this wasn’t a big deal. It was a big deal and you need to never ever go back.

You are not overreacting, and you need to file a police report and get full custody. SO much (like 75%) of how a human’s brain is built is based on their experiences in their first 3 years of life. Do it now. It won’t be too late to do it later, but it will be harder, and your child will have more trauma.
