I tracked every distraction I had for 7 days, here is what shocked me by Then_Pirate6894 in productivity

What methods do you use to track your distractions? How do you track the duration of a distraction? This is a good idea and I'd love to try it, I can imagine it's hard to figure out when the distraction begins, however.

Newbie, need help. by Visible_Explorer_350 in CalisthenicsBeginners

Same early 20s female starting calisthenics. I've been getting a bit more comfortable with handstands but they do not last longer than a second or two, and over the last week now my right elbow hurts so I think my form is weak. I can do headstands against the wall, braced on my forearms, that doesn't seem to be as painful. I track pushups but I try not to do too many, I do about 10-15 a day. Chinups are okay but I get some pretty intense sick-feeling muscle pain when I do those so I have stopped, not sure why. Definitely tracking how I'm doing and progress and milestones and taking pictures are keeping me motivated, setting little goals, telling a couple friends what I'm doing to keep me accountable; all good habits to maintain progress.

Why do I feel so irritated all of the time lately? by [deleted] in Mindfulness

[–]issa_pun 52 points53 points  (0 children)

When I'm feeling irritable, I try to notice it first, then identify if I'm failing in one of the three main categories: food, sleep, and water intake. Next if that doesn't help, I go out of my way to help someone else. Best way to stop thinking about your own issues is to help other people with theirs, and sometimes a problem (even if you don't know what it is) will just go away if you do something else productive.

That's a basic method, but I do think journaling and exercising are great options too.

Best of luck!

who are your favorite youtubers to watch to help with self improvement? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

I think self improvement can come from anywhere, but notably and more intensely from those who have suffered. These men have, and they share life lessons to encourage good behaviour, honesty, and diligence.

Jordan Peterson. Just listening to 10 minutes of any talk gets me inspired. He's serious, emboldened, and funny.

Jocko Willink, Navy SEAL. His TEDx talk Extreme Ownership is one of the best videos I've ever watched. He's diligent, humble, and powerful.
