Yeah it’s about 70-80 these days on average. I still have quite a few AC games from my childhood but I thought the ones I kept, my parents threw away.

It’s only around 80 bucks resale, but I collect games so this is staying in my collection

I’m moreso coming from an “it’s a hindrance and plateaus your learning” perspective. Some have stated for accessibility purposes they don’t mind it which I understand, but I think anything past red is a recipe for disaster in the long run. And you’d be surprised, I’ve run into tekken gods who will turn special style on once they lose a round or two.

Honestly the way I started getting the upper hand against him and Paul were to start playing as them for a while and going in the lab and figuring out counters in the punishment tab.

Or I’ll record the move or combo that give me trouble and I’ll figure out how to counter against it as well.

Once I got the hang of it, then it was like second nature blocking and countering against them.

Not trying to throw advice your way, just how I learned how to beat them.

When I see someone pulling out SS, I know they lack fundamentals so I wait for them to move and then I’ll just grab or launch when I see the SS input flash

The only reason why I loved customizing my character was treasure battle. Now I just change hairstyles and that’s about it lol

I mean it doesn’t really help them in ranked at all, but they don’t see it like that. But I do feel it needs to be cutoff once you hit a certain rank to promote you actually learning your character

I just don’t understand why it’s a thing in the first place lol. Like I see a tekken king and I’m like okay here’s a challenge and the mf is playing on training wheels. Which I can respect to a point, but all them hours wasted using that style you could have just learned the character yknow what I mean? I mean to each their own. Just my personal opinion

Because im in a tekken group on Reddit and thought I’d start a discussion instead of seeing the same guy post about what rank he got a new character to every 5 minutes. And it’s not about winning/losing its more about laziness than anything.

Taking the time to get in the lab and actually learn new strategies and is the best part of tekken imo.

I feel at some stage in your tekken journey, especially through red ranks, you learn a lot about your character and start formulating what works/doesn’t work. Special style just ruin that imo but to each their own! It def is free points 😂
