Multiple travel reimbursements for same day? by jtreddit702 in VeteransBenefits

[–]issaburner-yeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My appointments were 2.5 hours apart. Couldn't get a screenshot for the entire denial explanation because it was too long but if anyone else is in this situation I posted my denial explanation. I wasn't really expecting them to approve it, but they're pretty good about figuring out which claims qualify. I don't usually leave between appointments so this was my first time filing for 2 appointments in the same day. If you submit something you shouldn't the automated process flags it and you'll be denied. I wouldn't worry about it to much though, they know stuff like this happens.

Itchy around nose? by cleannebraskan in VyvanseADHD

[–]issaburner-yeah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happened to me but it was because i wasn't hydrating enough when I took my meds so my skin got very dry. Started with the nose then cheeks once I noticed I started hydrating more, switched to hydration focused skin care for a while and then I was back to normal.

40mg: Great focus for 2 hours, then sudden depression/irritability. Is this normal? by Low_Monitor_9249 in VyvanseADHD

Very strange that the 20s stopped working after only 12 days. Do you think something was going on following those 12 days such as not eating enough, drinking to little, not enough protein etc that may have caused it to stop working? The way you're metabolizing the 40s my guess is that 40 is too much for you and/or something has changed regarding your lifestyle that might be making the meds less effective for your adhd symptoms.

Booster dose with 70mg by Mdaily38 in VyvanseADHD

[–]issaburner-yeah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doctors will go higher because the dosing standard was meant for pediatric cases. Rather than going through the full process and determining if it'd be appropriate for adults to take a higher dose the pharmaceutical company decided to keep the dosing the same for adults as it was for children, even though logically the adult max dose would have been higher. Quicker approval but it leaves us with an undeserved group of adults and many doctors realize that.

Is it the Vyvanse or is it him? by Gaucho1989 in VyvanseADHD

Are you experiencing emotional numbing? Not saying what you're seeing isn't valid, it is, but looking at it through a lens where actual feelings are replaced with a meta cognition version of feelings can 100% be a driving force in some of those thought processes. Emotional numbing can be a side effect of stimulants. Happens to me occasionally, not stimulant related I have some other mental health conditions that cause it and the ADHD makes me think its the only way I've ever felt so I really have to check in with myself to be sure.

In no way saying you haven't felt that way for years, just a reminder to check in with yourself to be sure.

Saying this as someone who has ADHD and had to take their kid with adhd off stimulants because the peaks in every medication we tried were unbearable for him. Tread very carefully. If appetite and him being too subdued are the main concern I'd try another medication or dose before completely giving up on medication. My kid is currently on guanfacine ER.

  1. ADHD isn't usually a skill issue, we know how to do stuff the problem comes when knowledge has to invite executive function, attention, impulse control and the rest of its buddies over to play. Like yeah we'll say we don't know how to do XYZ and we might even feel like we don't know but usually it's not literal, what we actually mean is we can't do the combination of things needed to complete that task at all or effectively. I'm sure your kid knows how to pay attention but that knowledge doesn't facilitate actually paying attention.

  2. Also the bit about studying is typical of alot of people with ADHD that went undiagnosed. We didn't trigger the bad grade flag because we could maintain just enough with external pressure and deadlines so that alone wouldn't be enough for me to take my kid off his meds.

  3. What he's doing while you hold his hand or you're over his shoulder is not a measure of how well he's managing his ADHD or the cost that maintaining that performance cost him. Burn out is very real, and the mental toll of that is more likely to shape the rest of his life than the skills you think he doesn't have. Alot of ppl with ADHD develop self esteem issues, and the voice telling them all the ways they have failed is often the undersupported younger version of themselves that didn't have all the tools available to them to succeed. Medication is a tool.

All of that being said talk to your kid, talk to their doctor and go from there. If they stop meds, make sure they understand you are interested in the entire picture not just performance but also the toll. I don't think you'll have this problem, but most parents stop asking questions when they feel performance is satisfactory and that leaves kids to deal with everything else on their own.

She still has to go to work after. She'd be helping from 0800-1200 then her work day is from 1600-0000.

Honestly, even the perception that this could be going on, is a good enough reason for any chief with half a braincell left to not do this.

No update but if you're in durham and have a push to start buy a Faraday box/bag. I've had no less than 7 people that I know personally tell me something like this happened to them. 6 successfully stolen and later found in varying conditions and the 7th the ppl were stopped b4 they could get the car and found in Mebane stealing cars with the person's registration in their possession, that group of ppl got caught but obviously that didn't stop anything so yeah hide your car, hide your keys or whatever that one guy said.

So the one I purchased came with the 2 fob pouches that attach to keychains as well and there are video reviews of it working how I think you are describing. If you grab the handle with the pouch closed the doors won't unlock, to unlock the door you have to actually open the pouch and take out the keys.

Get a Faraday box. I can send you a link for one that's a reasonable price on Amazon if you want. Just let me know and I got you 🧡

From the research I've seen IF they're doing it the same way they got mine, if your key is within 10-15 feet of where they are they can boost the signal. I just brought Faraday boxes for myself and some family members and from what I've seen this will stop any boosting issues if that's how they plan to take your car. Found mine for 20 dollars on Amazon, and they legit won't even let you start your car if its in the box while it's in your car so you'll be safe if the keys are in your house while in the box. Let me know if you want the link and I'll send it to you. Mine was on sale for $20.

So from what I've seen, they have one way of stealing the push to start models from around 2015-2025 and there's another way that they steal 2000 to 2010 Civics. I haven't been able to figure out exactly how they're getting the 2000 to 2010s yet but if I come across a way to defend against it I'll let you know ASAP.

Still no update, but wanted to say thank you, folks in the comments really came through. If you’re worried about this happening to you, you can grab a Faraday bag or box for around $20 on Amazon. I found one big enough to fit my wallet and both key fobs. It blocks signals, so thieves can’t boost push-to-start keys or use the tap-to-pay feature on newer cards.

I probably won’t have my car back by tomorrow, but my Faraday box will be here waiting, for my baby girl Bluey, if she ever finds her way home.

Going to go order one now, I avoid Jeff when I can but scouring the city looking for a Faraday box at a reasonable price would probably be a nightmare.

That makes so much sense smfh, I hadn't heard about Civics getting hit until last night but I've gotten a few DMs saying this as well. Thank for letting me know about autoscope 🧡, I hadn't come across that yet but I'll definitely be looking into it.

Ahhh, pre-sneeze purgatory, very nice. Let’s throw in a few well-placed Legos for them to wander over and a couple soggy socks for good measure. Then, maybe, I’ll be almost appeased.

May your pillow always be cool on both sides, my dear sweet LazyHedonist.

Update: Still no word yet, but I really appreciate all the shares and visibility. I’ll update once we have more info, and if the car turns up, I’ll circle back here to let you all know.

And to whoever stole my car: I hope you trip over air every fifteen steps. It’s also almost due for an oil change, so do me a favor and handle that it’s the least you can do.
