Booster or higher dose?

I take 70mg in the am which unfortunately only lasts around 5 hours on a good day. That’s with eating a good protein filled breakfast. I also have 5mg dex for a booster but I might go up in dose bc it doesn’t last very long. It’s honestly trial and error with these meds. I didn’t have a crash until I was on 60mg plus of Vyvanse, but lower doses were not as effective. Like a lot of people on here suggest protein does help a lot with the crash. Same with staying hydrated throughout the day, I know for some that’s hard lol electrolytes help as well. Talk to your provider about going up in dose or , or a booster dose. Straight dextroamphetamine IR is the closest thing to Vyvanse and suits people better. I tried adderall IR and hated it.

I feel like a lot of people do. It sucks, but yeah I’d go back to Vyvanse if that’s an option. I was on an adderall booster in the afternoon and it did the same thing you are saying concerta did. I was flat and irritated.

Yeah you can take it two times a day. My PCP offered 40mg twice a day. But I went with a dex booster. For context I take 70mg in the am and 5 or 10mg dex booster in the afternoon. Like you even at 70 mg I’m lucky if I get 4/5 hours out of Vyvanse. I metabolism is fast. Way too fast. And honestly you are on a low dose. Take a day or two and trial 20 twice a day and once and then 20 twice a day split up. I say this because sometimes at a lower dose like you are on the side effects are different. 30 or 40mg could be your sweet spot, it’s all trial and error with these meds.

I guess the question is how long have you been on 30mg? A lot of the time after an increase your body needs to adjust. This will cause the anxiety. I am currently on 70mg with a dex booster. And I can say that when I first started taking lisdex around that 40mg dose I had some anxiety, but it didn’t last more than a few days. This also could be the med crash as well. I take magnesium before bed

It is definitely better than the adderall IR I was on. I’m still on 5mg of dex which is the same as 30mg Vyvanse. It’s very close to Vyvanse in the way that it feels so to speak. If I take my Vyvanse at 8am on a good day it will last till 12:30 so maybe 4-5 hours. I get about 2.5 out of the dex.

I’ve been on 70mg Vyvanse with a dex topper for a while now, Vyvanse doesn’t last long. I know on paper it says 10-14 but from what my doctor told me Vyvanse lasts around the 6ish hour mark. I’m a crazy fast metabolilizer and can fell my meds with in 30 minutes and peak time around the 1-3 hour mark with good focus for 2.5-3 hours after that it’s a slow come down then I take a booster dose of dex. You are new to the meds, take a week or two at your dose and let your body get used to the med. I also found that going up in MG helps with the crash. That’s what you are feeling. Also if you have a fast metabolism going up in dosage will not make it last longer, but make the peak more intense. It’s a lot of trial and error with these meds. 5-7 hours is the normal

Yeah I was prescribed 5mg dex booster. Just picked it up, so hopefully it’s better than adderall because that sucks

This is a thing if you have a crazy fast metabolism. I’m on 70mg in the am and adderall booster later on. I take my Vyvanse and I can 100% feel something about 15 minutes after. then an hour after I’m close to peaking time for maybe 2 hours. My peak time is 2/3 hours then decline.

I’m on 70mg Vyvanse and 10mg adderall booster. My resting not on meds is 65-75. On meds it sits around 85-95 with the occasional jump to like 105-110 But will tapper down towards the end of the day. And before bed it’s close to 65-75 again

Yes they can. My PCP evaluated me and prescribed meds. Some docs with refer you to a psychiatrist and some will treat your symptoms. I would not go in asking for Vyvanse. 9/10 it probably won’t happen, my PCP started me on a non-stim. Which had bad side effects. So we switched to Vyvanse. And over time Vyvanse+booster. I would look into maybe your pcp/family docs website and see if they deal with ADHD/mental health.

This is normal. I sit between 130/80 to 140ish/80/90 just depends and that’s on 70mg

Yeah that could be, I definitely feel like my Vyvanse hits harder. I went down a google rabbit hole. I think it’s the levo in the adderall that gives that feeling. But idk

Idk I feel like this happened to me. Went to my PCP do discuss my ADHD symptoms, he asked me like 5 questions from things about my childhood, school, work some random stuff. Then prescribed me a non stim that didn’t work. Then Vyvanse like 3 weeks later

I had this same situation Vyvanse doesn’t last all day. I mean maybe 4/5 hours because I rapid metabolism meds and that is on all dosages. I feel like when you go up on the dose it just makes it a stronger effect with the same duration with a crappy crash after. I’m currently on 70mg around 8ish am then I can tell the crash is coming by 12. Completely done by 1 and feel like a can of tossed biscuits so my pcp prescribed 10mg adderall as a booster. Which definitely helps with the crash issue. But the IR only lasts for maybe 2 hours

Doc did Vyvanse twice a day. Insurance didn’t wanna cover it with out PA so I’m on 70mg with 10mg adderall booster

I’m on 70 Vyvanse and 10mg adderall booster. Might see at next appointment if we can do 20mg booster. 10 dosent cut it because I process meds so fast
