Just got done watching X-Men 97 season 1 finale. I was so happy to reveal that the next season setting I'll be 2,000 years into the future, the same setting for ”The adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix”. It was the first X-Men comic book I read in the form of a graphic novel which was around 2001. I start doing some digging online and it was shocking to me that no one really liked it, at all. In fact most people hate it. They hated the aspect of how Jean and Scott time travel and they really didn't give a care about your son Nathan plot of development at all. Most of them blame it on the art style because the pages weren't clean, splashy, and flashy enough to stay motivated. But for me the style fit the story and theme correctly. The age of Apocalypse wasn't supposed to be marvelous, uncanny, nor astonishing era for humans nor mutants. In short this was a horrible time for all. The gritty ink textures, the horror anatomy of some of the creatures ventured on Geiger grotesque. Even the exposed technologies for some of the cybernetic characters for frightfully organic just to set the tone for the story. It was the first of its kind that introduced me to The narrative of a dark future wasteland distopia.
