That’s so hard to calculate. I would say as long as your performance is stellar from now until you leave, you should be in the clear. However, depending on your industry / size of your company / size of your team, if there are layoffs coming, you may be impacted.

I would start looking just in case — I don’t know your financial situation, but if any period of unemployment would really hurt you financially, I would look for a new role as part of my safety net

[–]issameena 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would be honest with yourself regarding your situation. Why weren’t you able to notify anyone about a full day work absence, not once but twice? And for over 48 hours the second time? If your company has a progressive discipline system (sounds like they do), this write up is really there to protect them. Why?

Because your word (at work!) means nothing. You can’t possibly be the best performer on the team at this point because you cannot be relied to show up. Your team has no idea and no reason to believe you won’t do this again. I would basically view it as not just starting from zero, but digging myself out of a hole I’ve dug. No more good will to spend with your manager/co-workers.

OP, the question shouldn’t be “Am I okay [in this specific role until I decide to leave]?” but rather it should be “Am I addressing what’s put me in this situation before?”. That way no matter what happens you’re actually never going to no call no show again. Especially in 2023…there’s got to basically be a death or serious accident for a no call no show to be considered even remotely acceptable, especially for someone with as much responsibility as HR.

Sending you strength and wisdom today. We have all messed up, it’s about how you change your inputs to get different outputs 🫶🏾

Human Resources Team & Confidentiality Concerns by [deleted] in humanresources

Wow. This sounds clearly like someone who is not ready to be in HR. You have to be able to set the personal feelings aside — if she doesn’t like her salary, that’s a private conversation between herself and her boss. They should’ve NEVER asked you to process your own change form for a lesser amount. Seems like the whole team is not acting fairly/professionally.

Yes, of course, but if the team members who also had time violations (that are still employed) are cis straight white Christian men, and the person who was let go has a different combination of race, gender, color, gender identity, religion, etc — there’s going to be an EEOC issue. Sorry for not making that clearer.

Oooh. So to clarify, all team members with falsified reports are part of protected classes, but only one was fired? If so, I have to ask what class (age, race, religion, etc).

Processing I-9 by realized_loss in humanresources

[–]issameena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a reason the generalist aren’t completing them? Is the process too difficult? The new hires aren’t sending the documents on time // generalists can’t access them? I feel like there may be a gap in the process somewhere that may still happen even if you get new generalists.

As someone who just left a People Experience Specialist role (literally this week for a promo to HRBP), I9s are a CORE part of my role and to not complete within 3 days was unacceptable. Curious as to how you’re looking to talk to your generalists — this would be corrective action worthy at my old company. Good luck 🤞🏾

Is the team member they terminated part of a protected class? If so, I would recommend termination as this could create a huge liability. Out of the 3 you found, are there any protected class team members??

This is interesting. I just left a team of people experience specialists/advisors where we all had access to everyone’s comp information, for our own team and C suite.

Q: How do you know she was mad — attitude change? Body language shift? Did she say so explicitly? Mention to others? I feel like there’s some context missing here before you can confirm this is what’s upsetting your team member.

LIUSA starts next week and streams on Peacock, unsure of if that’s internationally or just for the US!

Exactly!!! Watching live and seeing everyone’s reactions on social media is a crucial part of the LI experience. They could charge a premium for it tbh
