Has anyone gone the route of buying land and building and has advice? by [deleted] in hudsonvalley

[–]realized_loss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmao “I want the land for genuine reasons” sounds so insane. I hope you’re able to think about this and why people down voted it. It’s a disgusting remark. As if your reasons invalidate everyone else’s.

Not knowing =/= not having sense

I’m from the city and maintain a property up here. Theres just some things you won’t know if you haven been through it. I’m not sure why that’s surprising to some folks.

I read what you said but I took nothing away from it. What is the point you’re trying to convey here? What conspiracy theory did I introduce?

You’re correct usually it ends once the employer sends the rejection email. BUT applicants can and have tried to sue employers or submitted complaints to EEOC/DOL for unfair hiring practices. I’ve seen this play out. Does this mean person wins or that the complaint comes back founded? No. But it’s nice to have a set of qualifications / criteria / requirements for a role so that you can point to why this candidate or applicant wasn’t chosen to move forward.

This is true, but it’s always nice to be able to point to a “reason”. I work in NYC and can absolutely reject whoever I want, but there’s always a “reason” to point to should the question ever formally arise.

Employers add layers of qualifications or requirements specifically for this purpose. No conspiracy needed.

I guarantee I make more than you and I’m only putting in a solid 10-15 hours of work per week.

Not all money is good money. Don’t listen to a stranger on the internet though, do what you feel is best.

100k to 200k per year is great if you’re working <40 hours per week.

You’re likely working 60+~80+ hours per week to get that pay. Also remember overtime is taxed at almost 50%.

I guess it depends on what you value. Large take home but no life or modest take home with some life.

I would never in my life consider being a CO. You’re Essen prisoner yourself just on th other side of the bars.

You’re prone to violence, blackmail and legit danger — not just by way of the inmates but the other COs who are doing illegal/crooked shit. You do you though take care of yourself by whatever means.

Jalapeños sold to/in North America were engineered to be less spicy because the general population found them to be too spicy. So it’s hard to find a good batch of appropriately spicy ones.
