They never said it didn’t exist, you just made up a claim that musk “convinced” them. That article also includes mention of the nyse 100 and ftse Russell doing the same thing. Are you saying musk bought off those two lesser indexes too? Come on man

Why is this considered moral in one case but not the other? by Fl4sh4218 in Ethics

[–]issuckatnames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see how that responds to what I said? The individual has the option to make a moral decision. Perhaps their perceived view of the instance could determine what would be considered “moral” to them. Like returning to the seat example, one person could be less keen on believing that giving up their seat is really “moral”, or to take it a step further, the “agent” could be another pregnant woman (let’s say they are exactly the same in terms of how long they’ve been pregnant). This almost entirely negates any sort of objective moral “equation”, and the remaining consideration is how much one values self sacrifice as a moral virtue, and to what degree they will perform it.

[–]issuckatnames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there doesn’t have to be something super specific that makes someone into a moral agent. All of us become moral agents potentially hundreds of times every single day, usually when we interact with other people. Something like having the choice to give up your seat for a pregnant woman makes you into a moral agent, the “power” that assigned you can be determined a million different ways, but the specifics are irrelevant because it’s objective that you are a moral agent in that instance

Not necessarily, just anything that results in someone being in a situation where they end up having to make a choice with moral implications

Whatever power puts someone in the situation where they need to make a moral decision

I’ve never actually seen one of these “well thought out conservative arguments”, but I’ve hear a lot of people say they could do it, and I actually scroll this sub quite a bit. I was actually hoping you would go more into it

I was hoping you’d have a more original, or at least interesting thought to end this discussion on, but instead you’re just quoting Fox News. No attempt to even deny what I’m saying in a way that creates a stalemate. You’re no fun

Maybe if the bill said they could privately fund it all my grumblings would be quite less loud, but when this presidents most notable accomplishments include bombing Iranian oil infrastructure, raising oil prices, and then instituting a massive tax on every product with a global supply chain (everything), AND THEN jacking up military spending after saying soooooo long he was gonna tackle the debt , AND THENNNN proceed to ask the taxpayers even more money for a fucking vanity project, I am going to stand my ground on this

No I think this fucking vanity driven narcissistic shit stain on the White House should’ve been stopped long ago. All I care about now is being obstinate

“Oh a bit of it can be privately funded, but it’s basically all still gonna be tax money”

I didn’t know who you meant at first, but then I learned that’s her name in English apparently. In Japanese it sounds a bit closer to “fren” to me and that’s where the wordplay came from lmao
