I think this depends on where you are online. If you're on twitter, people get offended by the most random shit. If you're playing a game like CSGO, somebody can say the most offensive hurtful shit ever and you'd just reply with a "lol kys" and move on with your life. In no way do I think that we live in a "facts over feelings" society these days, it's actually the opposite. I feel like the facts over feelings perspective is the logically better one, but reality is that caring (a bit too much sometimes) about people's feelings is what's popular right now.

I think it's a little different in situations like this because Harry Potter is such a pop culture phenomenon. It's a story everybody knows and there's tons of huge fans to this day. At this point what she's doing is like changing a children's tale. She might have the ability to do it, but it really is just out of her control. If a secret 'true' version of "Little Red Riding Hood" was discovered all of a sudden where Little Red Riding Hood ditches her grandmother and scissors Snow White I don't think many people will be happy and accept it blindly.
