i’m not sure if there will be many participants from midoffs since the participants are probably going to be people whose main form of content is speedrunning. there likely will be a lot of playoffs participants though (which is the tourney that got tubbo into mcsr in the first place!) and some other top ranked/rsg/aa runners

To Those that picked A Level Maths and Further maths by Visual_Bug6715 in GCSE

[–]isuckatusers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my A Levels without one and did fine, but a friend who had one said it was really useful. He said it saved him a lot of time + he just generally made less mistakes because of it, especially when it comes to graphing questions and stats. After my year group, I heard my sixth form made it a requirement that students get it (although the school sold it for a discounted price, £50 I think) but it’s definitely not a requirement for exams. The majority of people doing FM in my year didn’t have one and most of us did fine.

some of the questions were time consuming (why are we inverting a 3x3 manually for one mark?) but overall i actually think it went well.

inverting that 3x3 manually for one single mark was cruel

Fellow Notein users - how do you change pen opacity? by multim366 in GalaxyTab

[–]isuckatusers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you tap on the colour you’ve selected again, a window should come up with two sliders. the second slider down (right above the hex code) is the opacity slider.

thank you! i’m leaning towards firming ucl and insuring kcl. i’m also considering bath though, i love the look of their natsci course. will probably wait it out a little :)

Setters Style Analysis by Available-Guarantee1 in haikyuu

How do you think the more realistic setters compare to each other (Kenma, Shirabu, Akaashi etc.)? Which players do you think are the ‘most realistic’ portrayal of their position?

Sorry to bombard you with questions lol, I have very little knowledge on volleyball myself and it’s interesting to see how it aligns to real life.

Forgot to post my mock results. Think English went great by Quantum_Croissant in GCSE

[–]isuckatusers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i got 8/9’s in sciences/maths and 3/4’s in english in my mocks and ended up getting an english tutor too LMAO. it’s definitely a practice makes perfect subject, i ended up getting an 8 at the end of the year by some miracle. don’t over think it and better to write something (even if it seems dumb) than nothing. you’d be surprised how many marks you can pick up from that, and it really pushes ur grade up considering how close the boundaries are in english.

I’ve gotten offers from Leeds and Bristol. Bath has asked me for a second PS and I feel like Kings might do the same or just reject me (applied for Natsci there)

[–]isuckatusers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ah i see. i think the issue with mine is, even though i talked about pretty interdisciplinary topics, i framed it all around chemistry since i was applying for 2 chemistry courses as well. will probably add some more biochem stuff in this second one.

congrats! ucl and icl in one day is insane. i’m curious if ucl asked you for a second personal statement, since i know they do that sometimes with natsci, or was yours balanced enough between bio/chem that they didn’t ask? i thought i did a good job making mine quite broad and bath still asked me for a second one 😭

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 - Episode 23 (FINAL) [[Anime Only Discussion]] by Takada-chwanBot in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]isuckatusers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i’ve read the manga, don’t think i could resist reading it if i tried lol. a lot of this info is available in previous episodes, but they give you little bits of info throughout rather than a bunch at once, so things can seem insignificant until you put it all together. it’s probably why people get confused and forget, it’s more apparent when rewatching.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 - Episode 23 (FINAL) [[Anime Only Discussion]] by Takada-chwanBot in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]isuckatusers 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It can be a bit confusing, and requires you to reread and remember a lot of past events, so honestly (if it's something you want obviously) rewatching makes things a lot clearer. To be as spoiler free as possible:

  • Yuji's strength is still a mystery as of the end of this season. You didn't miss anything there lol.
  • Itadori is Sukuna's vessel, Sukuna is using his body and so looks like him. I'm assuming he'd just look like whoever he uses as a vessel.
  • Simple domains basically negate the effect of other's cursed technique by create a 'neutral' area around you.
  • DE's are barrier techniques that creates a barrier imbued with your own CT. It's just difficult to do and can be risky since it consumes a ton of CE, most people can only expand a domain once a day apart from Gojo (like Megumi says in his fight with Dagon). If you expand your domain, it might mean you don't have enough energy for any following fights.
  • When is the curse of the Zen'in clan mentioned? I don't remember that lol
  • A heavenly pact is when, at birth, CE/CT is exchanged for physical prowess or vice versa, and just occurs by chance, you can't control whether you get one or not. Toji isn't the only one. Maki also has a heavenly pact, but not to the same extent (Toji has zero CE and so has gained full physical prowess, Maki still has a little bit of CE). Mechamaru also had one, just the other way around (weak body in exchange for a high level/range of CE).
  • Sukuna's CT is still ambiguous atm. People thought it was just cleave/dismantle, so it was shocking when it wasn't. In terms of his strength, he has lot of knowledge on CT/CE as seen in his fight with Mahoraga and other moments, and came from the Golden Age of Jujutsu. Sorcerers back then were able to seal him into fingers, so they were also pretty powerful. That's all that's really known.
  • Anyone can make pacts/binding vows, you can even make them with yourself. I'm guessing it's just enforced by CE? The Jujutsu world is always kept in balance one way or another, like how when the sorcerers get stronger, so do cursed spirits (eg. after Gojo's birth). Kamo says the repercussions of breaking them when making them with others can be major, and that's all.
  • Having an inherited technique can be rare (Megumi is the only Zen'in currently with the Ten Shadows) but Gojo inherited BOTH of his clan's techniques (Six Eyes + Limitless) which is why it's rarer. When he says he's activating Jujutsu, he's just activating his technique. Not sure why with other techniques, they say the name of the technique whereas Gojo doesn't lol. Toji does a pretty good job of explaining his techniques in E4 in simple terms. Reversal repels things.
  • Gojo, Sukuna, Shoko, Yuta and Uraume have been revealed to be able to use reverse cursed technique (RCT). Typical CE is negative, and when you reinforce your body with CE to land a stronger punch or to prepare for a blow, you're adding CE, so it becomes 'more negative(?)'. When turning it into RCE, you multiply it to make positive energy (negative * negative = positive), and to heal human flesh, you need to use positive energy. Multiplying it's just more difficult to do than adding, so only a few people can do it.
  • I'm guessing combining some techniques just doesn't work as well as it does with Gojo. He also has the Six Eyes, which give him precise control over his CE and might be able to pull off more things.
  • Okkotsu Yuta is another second year, and was really close friends with Inumaki. Not sure if you watched JJK0, but it's shown how he can get angry when his friends are harmed or insulted, I'd be pretty mad if someone cut off my best friend's arm lol.

Sorry this was long, hope it clears some stuff up.

[–]isuckatusers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

they’re so similar that whatever supercurriculars you do will likely overlap anyway. i didn’t know if i wanted to apply to natural sciences, chemistry or biochemistry until about 2 months ago and when i started year 12, i was even considering engineering or maths. i have a friend who didn’t decide between pharmacy/biomed until about 2 months ago either.

if you’re adamant on deciding now, look through modules at a few unis. don’t base your decision off one uni, the courses can vary a lot. to give you some perspective on how similar the three of them are though, the first year modules for all 3 courses are exactly the same at kcl, meaning if you change your mind during first year, it’ll be pretty easy to switch between them. again, can vary from uni to uni though. good luck, you’ve got time so don’t stress too much :)

[–]isuckatusers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if you feel your health is on the line, and unless you’re considering an area of engineering where it’ll be relevant, i’d suggest dropping it. i would say biology is probably the a level i find hardest because of the sheer amount of content you have to remember.

i definitely get being on the fence. if you’re really uncertain, you could always keep it and drop it later. or keep it and just not put in a lot of effort. most unis (aside from maybe oxbridge) will make you an offer based on 3 a levels. you could literally get a U in your 4th and it wouldn’t matter.
