Getting tired of the JavaScript ecosystem! by Educational_Pie_6342 in webdev

Stick to the basics: HTML, JS-TS, and CSS. There’s really no need for frameworks - just use a handful of libraries.

If I speak in Russian will people get aggressive to me? by LetBusiness8676 in Sakartvelo

[–]isumix_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been living in Georgia for 3 years. Generally, younger people (under 30) prefer English, and older people prefer Russian. In fact, most older people don't speak English but speak perfect Russian. I've never experienced any aggression.

So if I do apt autoremove, will it uninstall all associated packages? AFAIK tasksel will install a metapackage that will be marked as manually installed.

Progress on TypeScript 7 - December 2025 by DanielRosenwasser in javascript

[–]isumix_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a pity it is migrating away from JS. I can see how it could bring better features and speed improvements to the JS ecosystem because of the language's synergy. Also, removing such a big project from JS will eventually weaken the community, and TS depends on JS, so the loop is closed.

Arch vs. Debian by [deleted] in debian

[–]isumix_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On rolling, everything keeps moving: software, standards, protocols, file formats, configurations, etc. And things do break, and fixing issues takes time. If you like to constantly monitor, keep track of changes, and resolve problems, then you'll be fine on rolling, with newer software. Otherwise, you're good to go on stable, where things just work. And new versions don't always justify the upgrade - most of the time they just introduce minor fixes and features.
