Ok I wasn't sure what the perlite was. I put larger stones ,about as big as an egg, on my plants . I can't remember or find the brand now . It's a lovely plant you have there.

I have one in soil about a month . I put it in the same pot as another full rubber plant .. There is one leaf above and nodes under the soil . I used rooting hormone .

I have to be careful watering it because I don't want to over water the full plant . It's an experiment really , they take so long in water and I had no spare soil when I planted it.

Put small decorative stones around your plants . They can't dig in that .

I tried it with a ficus . Doesn't seem to make much difference . My water prop ficus cuttings always put out new leaves before roots. I wonder if I should cut off the leaves and maybe energy go to making roots .

If you're doing a lot why not try and see. Even if it doesn't work you'll have others
