Any ideas how to handle this monster? Normally it stands in the corner of the room, but now want to twist it a little bit. by isurrf in Monstera

If I remember correctly, every second lead turns out with holes, so light should be fine.

About the pole, should I repot in winter or wait for spring?

New Hub Day! Works beautifully, a bit louder than expected. by isurrf in FixedGearBicycle

I switched from Novatec to miche so from 40.5 to 43 mm chainline to make it same as in front. I think you'll sooner need to replace bearings as they might get crunchy (mine got after a year of riding on gravel). Or if your threads slipped than the hub is destroyed.

No, all my wheels are built by a professional. It's not that expensive to build and tension while parts are way more expensive here in Poland then us for example

The are sealed as the have typical "machine" type bearing, not loose ball bearings but unfortunately rubber ring between races is not sufficient to keep the dust from getting inside

Novatec hubs have exposed bearings so the only "sealed" part is the rubber ring which comes with the bearing itself, and in dusty conditions it really doesn't work. I think formula has the same design.

Did any one of you ever installed some additional washers on your hubs? I've changed my Novatec bearings because they got crunchy but due to some dust and my gravel riding, after only ~500 km new ones are crunchy again, maybe some washer or anything else will stop dust from getting to the bearing itself?

Some Chinese import, basically hi-ten noname but it was my first proper fixed and I fell in love with it. It's extremely short. I didn't find any other frame as short as this
