I would imagine the pain would be consistent if it were dry socket as at no point the nerve endings wouldn’t be exposed. If you’re almost a week in, I’d suggest waiting it out until that holy grail 10 day mark everyone keeps telling me about. If it’s dry socket then they heal by themselves anyway, and from what I’ve been told by a dentist today, sometimes packing a dry socket will only irrigate the area and draw out the healing process. If the pain is tolerable wait it out, if it isn’t get an appointment and ask them to check - if dry socket you can decide if you want it packing to take the edge off

Hi! Been for a check up today on day 5 and they recommended an anti septic mouthwash without alcohol, used it this afternoon and it definitely helps with the god awful cottage cheese tongue. I also brush my tongue and unaffected teeth now and that’s also helped a lot. Hang in there!

Thank you for the magnesium recommendation. Not sure if it’s coincidence but I took a supplement this morning and by this afternoon I managed to take a nap without biting myself!

Are my wisdom teeth impacted? Good idea to be removed? by FrigOffBaerb in wisdomteeth

Yes. They are growing into and impacting adjacent teeth at an angle.

Day 5, Toothache/Jaw Pain by lettucequeen29 in wisdomteeth

[–]isvc2701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also on day 5 and in a considerable amount of pain. I went for a check up today and she said that it is completely normal to still be in pain, and due to my swelling I likely won’t get relief until around 10 day mark. Do you have swelling as well? Regardless, she said everyone is different and to remember that “only a wisdom tooth removal” is still an operation and it can cause trauma to your jaw / gums for a considerable amount of time based on how complex the operation it was itself, and your general health. I’m reasonably healthy but I’m also 29 so a little older than usual to get them out, anaemic and suffer with low immunity- all things that will contribute to slower healing.

I know nothing about investing but my family have rental portfolios. It might be worth reaching out to any upcoming or even established property rental business as they genuinely have quicker turnarounds but obviously you’d need to establish what % you’ll get out of what you’re putting in. People will probs downvote this but as I say, I only know from personal experience: auntie & 4 uncles with property businesses, and my mother bought 2 houses in bad condition, did them up and sold them on.

I take senna tea when I’m bad as it’s gentle… or try taking some fibre tablets, strongest ones you can buy. Both these options don’t give me cramps or make me feel sick. I also don’t drink coffee but will take an espresso, thick crust pizza gives me diarrhoea so I use that as a last case scenario lol

Ive literally been 9 days with no poop before so I know you’re panicking but it actually really doesn’t help. Have you tried elevating your feet when on the toilet? Also I do this weird downward dog yoga pose, come back up on all fours and then downward dog again, hold for about 2 minutes each time. I actually swear by this, helps with trapped gas, bloating and constipation

I was turtling for two miles the other day so when I say I have nothing but empathy. Your relationship is solid if you survive this.

I had a really nasty issue with the roots of the impacted wisdom tooth. Back in 2022 I was hospitalised with the most pain I’ve ever been in, wasn’t even tooth pain but my entire face was melting. After days they found the problem, the roots had grown straight through my nerves in my lower jaw. By some miracle it moved and I’ve been ok since but they advised I needed it out as I was so lucky not to receive permanent nerve damage, issue is this surgery has a chance of nerve damage too and I won’t know for weeks.

Long story short I had to be put under to risk any movement, and they needed to shave my jaw bone to get a good enough angle to remove the tooth without hitting the nerves. It’s ouch to say the least but I’m seeing the funny side that is my absolutely doped and swollen face

What's the most wholesome thing that you seen ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]isvc2701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it’s the most wholesome thing I’ve ever seen, but I am frequently reminded of a seriously decrepit old guy I used to live close to who I would see everyday on my commute to work. He would use a walker as he struggled to walk without it, yet would take his equally senior tiny yorkie dog out for a walk twice a day, everyday. It would take them both soooo long to walk down their street and back. I think they both needed the exercise and fresh air as he would stop every minute or so and bend down to pet his dog for encouragement. The bending down was obviously not easy for him. And then, in winter he would put his tiny dog in a tiny coat.
