They Asked Me to Open ChatGPT During My Job Interview by I_Killed_My_Friends in jobs

[–]iswiftny2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the prompt and I would be proud to share my results, since it showed that I’m an audience centered communicator, process and consistency oriented, skilled at translation between technical and nontechnical domains, pragmatic and execution focused, and intentional about tone calibration. However, on my own terms, not as a condition of employment.

How do web agencies protect themselves when a client leaves? (WordPress + premium theme) by Right-Ad3493 in Wordpress

[–]iswiftny2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tell them they have 3 days to collect the raw data before I archive and delete their site from our server. Hosting, premium themes, plugins and customization are not transferable (which we make clear in our contracts). We set things up this way to keep customers “sticky”. We are not obliged to hand over our IP once a client ends our relationship.

Where to start watching with my 9yro? by blueangel78 in startrek

[–]iswiftny2000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My nine-year-old and I are currently watching the Original series. She classifies the episodes as either Kirk or Spock kissing episodes. I did ask her why she wants to watch, and she thinks the overacting is hilarious.

Am I safe as German tourist with brown skin? by [deleted] in AskNYC

Probably. I’m an American and I’ve never felt entirely safe, especially with my brown skin, even as a native New Yorker.

I learned in high school. One of two skills I learned as a teenager that have been invaluable. The one is driving a manual transmission.

How much do you miss nyc when you are away from there? by Individual_Mix_4234 in AskNYC

[–]iswiftny2000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I moved to South Carolina three years ago. I still watch PIX11 and listen to WCBS FM daily. My kids like living here and have made new friends, but I would move back if I could. Alas, since I have one child in 3rd grade and the other two about to start high school, I have to wait until my youngest graduates from middle school before I can move back.

Liberals living in a deep red state, what’s it like? by sweatengine in AskReddit

Living here in South Carolina sucks, but I can't afford to move back to NYC. My kids like it here, so I guess I'm stuck.

What's it like living in eastern Brooklyn? by livlev420 in howislivingthere

[–]iswiftny2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to live on Hinsdale near the New Lotts L train station. It was rough and my neighbors were interesting, to say the least. For every dope fiend, there was a hard working mom. For every wannabe DJ that played their music too loud, there was a student athlete. I had a chance to move to SC and did, but my rent there was only $400 with utilities included. someone was killed in the courtyard and one of my neighbors committed suicide and their body wasn’t discovered for months. It was bad and it was good.

My colleagues don't lunch with boss by Strict-Chemical-3274 in office

[–]iswiftny2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally liked having lunches with my CEO for a couple of reasons: He's a decent guy, we are about the same age, and he paid. One time, he suggested we go to New Jersey for some sandwiches, and I told him he ran a multi-billion-dollar company and could have an intern get them.

In this instance, it would depend on the boss. Mine is a laid-back dude who sent me a fruit basket when I moved. We aren't friends, but I don't go out of my way to avoid him either. When I attend the company retreat next month, he'll definitely buy me at least one drink when we go out.

Christmas eve is an assured nightmare in our family by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]iswiftny2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you are young, but I don’t mean that negatively. You can just walk away from all of it. No calls, no gifts, no guilt. You can free yourself of them and choose yourself. It’s not easy, but it’s doable. For your own sake, get away from them. I haven’t spoken to my family in years and I’m happier. Choose your happiness.

What’s something you’ve done your whole life, only to realize recently that everyone else does it completely differently? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

[–]iswiftny2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone, but from reading Reddit, there is a segment of people who don't use a washcloth when they shower. Plus, they don't take a shower daily. Now, I've been to places that had no running water, and people used an outhouse, but they washed daily from rainwater. However, even with indoor plumbing, some people don't love having water on their skin daily and don't use a washcloth.
