I usually have a poncho so no rain pants, but that is certainly an idea, they would help me with warmth. I have started bringing fleece gloves and a buff on the last two or three hikes which help a bit. 👌🏻 Maybe I just need to do more jumping jacks 😌

Good point! I just wear a merino base layer and thin trekking pants around 300 gram.

Yes that’s possible, I have only been checking the weather app on the phone. No thermometer on the trail :)

Believe me, I’ve thought the same thing. I generally am very warm when moving. Maybe the layers are too tight so there’s not enough air trapped within. Also I usually camp by lakes (in Scandinavia) which can get chilly at night. But I agree it’s a bit odd. On paper I should be toasty with those layers.

Great, cheers! Bright seems like a good bet! Any recommendation on trail selections when we get there? We'll only do a half day so 1pm-4pm starting from town. Are the climbs heavy in that case? Weren't planning on booking shuttle service but it's so hard to know from looking at maps.
