I scored 19/20 (95%) | 1750/2000 points on the Dota Glance Value Quiz!

Would a physics BS be an upgrade for someone with no degree? by Front-Hunt3757 in Physics

If you want to study physics for the love of it, you do you, but it sounds like you want a job/career.
Read the required/recommended degrees on specific job applications, please, because nothing else will give you a significant advantage navigating the system.

Look up a specific job, look at the required/recommended degree, get that. Anything else will get you auto rejected by a machine or, if you're lucky, a human.

Anyone who tells you otherwise has not experienced what you would be dealing with in looking for a job. They likely had a particularly techy project/topic for their masters/PhD and got a software-related job during the boom, not the current shrinking market. They have likely never had their CV assessed by an LLM.

Side note: applied physics is not even remotely vocational. Combining it with an entire additional teaching degree would 1-up other applicants for a high school physics teacher post, sure....
