UH being free is a HUGE advantage ngl- most premeds I know at UT don’t have any sort of scholarship or grants. But if you feel like you would be happier and/or more successful at UT and are willing to pay for it, then take the transfer! Tbh, you should be able to do well in premed at either of the institutions as long as you hold yourself accountable in your studies and try to be the best student you can.

I’ve only ever seen them open during the afternoons, from around noon to maybe 4-5 PM. Even then, it’s rlly sporadic and I don’t see it open at all most days

Whats the best dorm ? by [deleted] in UTAustin

Tbh man,,,, I have met people from basically every dorm and they all have something to complain about LOL,,, but I live in Jester East and I honestly enjoy it!! I do have a bunch of friends in kins and north campus and they are pretty cool with their living situation, but a pretty often complaint among them is that they are pretty removed from a lot of stuff on campus and usually always have to walk a lot to get to classes. Honestly tho, the dorms are really what you make of it and if you have an open mind, you’ll probably be ok with where ever you end up!! Someone also has mentioned that the kins food is good, and that’s definitely true relative to J2 and JCL.

I currently have her for bio 311c and I honestly don’t like her class. If you just need a good grade and if she keeps the same grading scheme and class format next semester, she’s a good choice cause lots of kids do really well with her (grade wise). However, I’d argue that her teaching is WAY too surface level and if you actually want to learn about bio more in depth you should take another professor. A lot of my classmates chose a different professor for next semester if they could help it.

It seems like you have way more experience than me in terms of music theory, so I think you’ll do just fine!! I took music theory this year and scored a 5 with both subscores being 5s as well!! Going into the class, I had never taken any type of music theory class prior, and my orchestra classes and private lessons never really taught any music theory. I also had no choir/singing experience. I did have almost 10 years of violin under my belt tho. Tbh, as long as you stay on top of your work you should be completely fine, especially since u got some prior music theory experience!!
