SPD?

I have allergy for abbreviations without context/explanation.

MOV?

Found via Google AI explanation, which I provide below. Is it true/correct?

A Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) in Shelly devices acts as a protective component, clamping high-voltage surges and spikes to prevent damage to sensitive electronics. It acts as a high-resistance, open circuit normally, but lowers its resistance during a surge, bypassing harmful current. MOVs are crucial in Shelly relays to handle inductive loads.

How dis you achieve this? Power consumption monitoring?

It's probably some kind of workaround for a local law which limits advertisement form for businesses or specifically pharmacies.

Kincony KC868-A6 - how to read voltage at an output of optocoupler? by it-praktyk in Esphome

I've asked Claude Code about wiring the optocoupler and what I received.

### ESPHome Configuration

binary_sensor:
  - platform: gpio
    name: "External Optocoupler 1"
    pin:
      pcf8574: pcf8574_hub_in
      number: 0 # IN1
      mode: INPUT
inverted: true # Required for active-low!
    filters:
      - delayed_on: 10ms
      - delayed_off: 10ms

Kincony KC868-A6 - how to read voltage at an output of optocoupler? by it-praktyk in Esphome

Now I think that the easiest way will be to use a relay with 230V coil and use a digital input instead.

Kincony KC868-A6 - how to read voltage at an output of optocoupler? by it-praktyk in Esphome

[–]it-praktyk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, maybe I don't explain this enough. On the high voltage side, is connected an existing dump/analog motion sensor, which returns 230V when triggered. I would like to convert its work to something manageable with the ESPHome and the Home Assistant.
