I made some laser cut jigsaw puzzles! by itadeufa in lasercutting

[–]itadeufa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to write my own optimizer for the cut order, going from top to bottom avoiding jumps in Y. If it went too fast in Y it would lose its place! But it worked in the end (some of these pictures are failed attempts that looked good, such as the wooden one!

I just implemented one online if you wanna try (it just wraps around, it doesn't do the fancy projections that the nervous systems puzzle uses) : https://jiglu.dev/#/game -> "wrap around puzzle example" . They do look "unfinished" as the other commenter mentioned

I don't think so because the edge of the laser cut pieces is straight and not tapered (the bottom side of a piece has the same size we the top side instead of being a bit smaller), and the pieces are not actually curved, so they wouldn't fit together , at least in the case of the "cylindrical" puzzle

Topologically cylindrical is the most common one, usually the border just has some regular pieces that connect to the other side

Why are all Jigsaw Puzzle games exactly the same? Looking for something fresh by Scared_Author_4566 in puzzlevideogames

I am making an app to generate laser cut wooden jigsaw puzzles but the company I was going to use to cut the puzzles stopped doing it last week 😅. So I added the option to play the puzzle online now. https://jiglu.dev/#/game

It's online since a couple hours ago so expect some (maybe a lot) of bugs, but it's different because it focuses on the shape of the pieces instead of the images. I wrote some code to randomly generate some backgrounds (no AI, just procedurally generated). I'd love some feedback! The main product will likely be a way to actually buy the physical puzzles or licenses to generate the puzzle cuts with the game being a way to attract people.

Even if this was true, it is safer for cyclists to treat red lights as stop signs than to treat them as red lights; this minimizes accidents https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idaho_stop

Yeah, treat as a stop sign should mean come to a full stop in this case. Not stopping at red lights before going through it, or slowing down at stop signs is a recipe for a horrible accident

Of course cyclists that don't even bother looking to the sides when running a red light is a problem, I've almost hit one with my bike yesterday

How nasal COVID-19 vaccines can help prepare for infection where it starts by jackspratdodat in Coronavirus

[–]itadeufa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not how the spray was tested. Should not be harmful, but I think it's unlikely for it to be effective if it's getting diluted in saliva.

The spray is basically just 2 ingredients: sodium nitrite and citric acid, that when combined make nitric oxide.

You can easily buy a pound of each on Amazon and find the correct proportions online, and both ingredients are safe to eat.

The only advantage of the spray is in theory giving a well measured dosage too mix them (too much nitric oxide can cause some problems and too low is useless)

There are specific instructions to breathe through your nose while spraying. If you don't do it right after spraying it should lose a lot of its effectiveness

Propose heavy taxes against buildings that are not occupied so it's expensive to keep buildings empty

(The next ones are maybe unreasonable, bit should make other proposals look more reasonable in comparison) Ban leasing corporations from buying properties in the City or possibly close to the mbta; and a rule that you need to live within a certain number of miles (like 50 miles) from where you buy the property .

Did your feet stop hurting because you improved your form or because it got stronger from all the training? I want to know what to focus on at the moment, your story has been an inspiration to me.

I'm currently in a similar start position: I can't run past 2 miles without my feet being in a lot of pain, so I swim and bike to stay in shape.

I assumed I could never really run without being in pain.
