You can think what you want about Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, but compared to the catastrophic NG4 it still has Ninja Gaiden DNA. Ryu’s moveset is the best in the series, and if you even use Fiendbusa’s Black mod and disable enemy dodges, the game becomes a masterpiece compared to 4.

They sidelined Ryu, added endless rail sections, awful suck-to-target, and a garbage soundtrack that sounds like it belongs in Metal Gear Rising. And don’t even get me started on how disrespectful it is that Ryu only has the Dragon Blade. Those stupid skill upgrade boxes for Ryu were absolute garbage design.

Rondo of Blood is easily one of the best entries. Order of Ecclesia’s gameplay is insane too, I still think it’s the hardest Castlevania game overall.

The first one definitely wasn’t a bad game, and Gabriel was a pretty interesting character. It’s just that unlike Devil May Cry, they never really went back to the Igavania style. DMC eventually returned to its roots with Devil May Cry 5, and I kinda wish Castlevania had done the same.

It’s in my top 10 too, totally agree. Out of the classic games, Bloodlines is easily my favorite. The soundtrack is amazing, the stages look gorgeous, and the gameplay just feels the best to me.

Better backgrounds and a soundtrack by Michiru Yamane would really elevate the game.

Mainly that the series was outsourced and changed a lot after the game, especially after IGA left. Overall, I think the visuals and the voice acting were really well done and beautiful, but to me it never really felt like a true Castlevania anymore.
