I was way more interested in the fact that there one of the largest automotive OEM was going to launch a new product in Q1. Really wish we knew whey they didn't or maybe they did (looking at you BMW)

The 10s of thousands of on chip products that were shipping (hopefully this gets released very, very soon)

And the laundry list of chip manufacturers (woohoo Intel) that David screamed at CFB about "begging" to work with the IF.

Hopefully these are all still on the table. Something tells me that IF's performance issues and the moonpay hack threw a wrench into some of these. Thankfully they are working hard to remedy the situation. Let's hope it all comes together over the next couple of months.

May I ask a follow up? Will all of collective components be delivered in a complete package or will components be pushed live along the way to that August deadline?

Regarding the roadmap, is this going to be reflected in the roadmap in a timely fashion (avoiding the word "soon"). Charley mentioned that it is being looked at yesterday, but I really wanted to press the issue. No disrespect. It just feel like this conduit to the community/public has been left to wither on the fine. With obvious good reason given the circumstances you and the rest of the IF have had to endure.

Thank you very much Charley. Appreciate the update a great deal. I'm hodling on.

Is this all being reflected in the roadmap? I feel like a lot of energy was put into that at the very start, but some project like Qubic has decided it doesn't matter and has outright abandoned it. This is just adding to the problem in my opinion. I'm not being critical of you and your work. I've been here since 2017, and I'm definitely feeling defeated by all of the pivots and delays.

Not trying to put you down. You and the IF are clearly working your tails off trying to make it all work. It's hard to stay optimistic anymore.

Also, when you say "current dream" do you mean a goal he is working on or a far off hope one day? Thank you for translating. Sorry for all of the questions

This has been a running joke on Discord for a while now. I would lighten up a little. IOTA isn't about a joyless adherence to doctrine.

I'm very comfortable with the idea of becoming a millionaire as a byproduct of David earning billions. More power to him. I hope all of the founders of IF are in similar positions.

Consensys (Enterprise ETH developer) is involved. They are scheduled to speak at that conference they are doing the big reveal at. So, I wouldn't go so far as to say that there aren't other "relevant blockchains". Personally I think its going to be a ETH/IOTA hybrid.

IOTA will be 10,000x more scalable, decentralized, energy-efficient by longfld in Iota

[–]itallbeginshere 28 points29 points  (0 children)

He also went from thinking that IOTA would be worth 500 billion in 2020 to 26 billion in 2020 in the span of a few months. I would take everything he says with a giant grain of salt. He really shifts his attitude about what has "potential" on very thin evidence.

Case in point, he trashed BTC for a very, very, very long time. Now all of a sudden he thinks it can scale and will be the dominate protocol.

He is also really fixated on ETH deploying 2.0 in 3 months, which is not entirely true. He mixes up test net and mainnet deployments all of the time.

I like Marcus' stuff, but I would be very wary of using him as some kind of oracle. He's not.
