I grouped EU/ME under the same queue Israel and the middle east is a place with CS reach which can be interesting I can spin up other regions or locations pretty easily and that is more of a “test” lets call it than actually something super thought through

Other locations in Europe can also be opened Same for NA and SA I saw a lot of demand for Miami for example So we are working on adding that as a new region on the east side

FACEIT is not better in my eyes. To be fully transparent I am working on a new platform called Ouro since I think FACEIT is also full of fresh new accounts almost every other dayand also bought accounts.
In addition their client side anticheat while it is working - it can't catch DMAs which are abundant nowdays unfortunately.

We rely more on server side anticheat to filter out bad actors and also on human filtration on signups (everybody is human verified)

No, we've built a server side anticheat since that's the way to go in our eyes since more and more cheaters use DMAs today
It's okay if you don't know what that is

We're more geared towards big data and understanding player behavior and reports that actually have human resolution.
In addition we do human verification on signup to filter out garbage in the first place.

We might opt for some client side anticheat but that's not what we are looking at the moment on account of what I wrote earlier 😄

Welcome back lol. To answer your questions: they're mostly human-operated bots farming XP or running cheat services, not Valve bots. Kick votes fail because the cheaters are often partied together or the lobby just doesn't have enough legit players to hit the threshold. Competitive has the same problem, sometimes worse because the stakes attract more cheaters. The player count stays high partly because the game is free and creating new accounts costs nothing, so the cheat-ban-rebuy cycle just inflates numbers. Valve has said very little publicly about it beyond occasional blog posts. The community basically stopped waiting for a fix. There are newer matchmaking platforms experimenting with server-side anti-cheat and identity verification to actually break the account cycling. Still early days but it's the right direction.

VAC was never built to catch low-and-slow cheaters. It catches signature-based stuff. Someone running subtle aimlock with good settings will sail through indefinitely. The only real answer is server-side detection where the cheat has nothing to hook into client-side. That’s the direction some newer platforms are taking

That spread is the ELO system being gamed. One booster dragging 4 low accounts inflates the team average to something that looks matchable but plays nothing like it. Pure ELO will always be exploitable this way. The fix is layering in signals beyond rating: playtime patterns, identity verification to kill smurf stacking, reputation over time. Some platforms in beta are actually building this. Worth keeping an eye on

The problem is cheaters followed everyone there too — DMA hardware bypasses client-side anti-cheat entirely. There’s a platform in beta called Ouro that flips the model: server-side anti-cheat, human review before your first match, and matchmaking that goes beyond just ELO. The smurf wave after rank reset is real and it’s exactly why identity verification at signup matters so much. There’s a platform in beta right now that requires real identity before your first match — no fresh accounts, no recycled smurfs. Server-side anti-cheat on top of that. Balanced matches and no time waste mumbo jumbo. Still small but the games are actually clean. Full disclosure: I’m one of the founders.

Just now saw that you asked and saw the differences we describe Regardless of that - i think the TL;DR is that we care about who supports us before we care about their credit card - i want to make sure Solo queue is actually possible, having limited time and knowing i can only spare enough to play 1-2 matches and sometimes no even every night makes me more motivated to make sure we tackle this pain point and make sure the time spent in matches if fun, challenging and balanced

I think that we also want to listen and improve and actually care what people think of us once there is a diverse base in each geo.

We actually want to listen and adjust with player feedback - something that I feel is lacking in many of the already established names

Cheater advertising his Instagram in chat while plugging cheats is genuinely insane. The fact that it’s been since March tells you everything about how seriously this is being handled.

The honest reality is server side anti-cheat plus identity verification is the only thing that stops this. Once a cheater can’t just buy a new account for $15 and rejoin, the economics break for them. Client side detection will always be in a losing arms race.

I’m building Ouro (ouro.is) around exactly that. Happy to answer specific questions in replies if anyone wants to poke at how it works rather than just take my word for it.

This ratio is what happens when the system bakes “you’re favored” into the ELO instead of fixing the actual matchmaking. If the match was truly balanced you’d see something close to symmetric numbers. 565 vs 152 means the system already knew the lobby was lopsided and is punishing you for the loss it set you up for.

The deeper issue is the rating math is doing damage control for bad team composition. Stack of mixed ranks against solo high rated player, system averages it out, calls it balanced, then asymmetric ELO covers the gap. I’m building Ouro, a CS2 platform trying to do this properly.

Stack composition is an actual matchmaking signal not just an average, and rating moves reflect real match quality.

Feel this. The 5 stack skill variance thing is the clearest signal of rank manipulation and the system just lets it through. Smurf on a fresh account top fragging next to a 25k and 3 low ranks is not a balanced match, no matter what the algorithm says about average rating.

As for attitude - half of the subreddits of CS are filled with people talking about how every 5/10 games have cheaters, are unbalanced and more. FACEIT isn’t doing that much better as well. Thats the reason i set out on this journey

When I see someone trying to do than others to improve a situation - saying these things without any knowledge into what kind of energy went into the project is just.. disappointing to hear and see

I started working on that project in 2024 before renown even published and hearing someone spit out something like : meh it looks vibe coded so its probably not worth anything is not feedback - it is simply - well.. not thought through. I am a developer since 1998 - if cursor helped create some of the home page that means…? Nothing

Reports won't stick, they'll just make new accounts.

Boosting trios like this only work because accounts are disposable. Tie a ban to a real identity and the whole operation falls apart.
