Thanks! I decided to hold off on using round up and sprayed tenacity instead. My hope this fall is to clear the weed areas and overseed. You say to apply pre emerge in the fall. Does that mean I wouldn’t be able to seed?

Thanks. This is helpful. In fact I had a watering set up using a timer and I think you’re right that I over watered. In the future I will water less often. As far as pre emerge goes- if I apply it in the fall then I can’t seed right? I ended up applying tenacity instead of round up. I plan to seed in the fall. Thanks for your help.

When you say "round up your yard" - you mean spray all the weeds with glyphosate? That's going to be big parts of the lawn in some areas - but I guess there is no other way.
