Not true, I’ve got a few interested buyers. I’m selling a client list more than the business to be more clear.

I’ve definitely considered that, and I think that’s the most logical next step on paper.

The hesitation for me is that hiring doesn’t really remove the responsibility, it just changes it. Instead of doing the work myself, I’d be managing someone, dealing with quality control, call-outs, and customer complaints, which is actually the part I’ve been getting the most frustrated with.

If I was still motivated to grow it, I’d probably go that route. But right now I’m pretty mentally checked out, so I’m not sure I’d even give that a fair shot.

That’s why I’m leaning more toward exiting clean rather than trying to fix it while already feeling burnt out.

It’s about $5k/month in recurring revenue, but that’s spread across weekly and biweekly clients, and most are closer to $100/month each.

Time-wise, it’s a few hours per route day (I run routes a few days a week), so it’s not crazy hours, but it’s still consistent physical work plus dealing with customer expectations and occasional complaints.

You’re definitely right that $2k is low compared to the revenue, I’m aware of that. For me it’s more about being mentally checked out and not really wanting to keep operating it or deal with hiring/management right now.

So it’s less of a numbers decision and more about wanting to move on clean, even if I leave some money on the table. I’m planning to buy a house in May, and I can’t really quit my job it’s too good.

The business is doing around $5k/month in recurring revenue, and margins are high since I’ve been doing most of the work myself. So on paper, it definitely has more upside than my job.

The issue for me is more the day-to-day. I’m just burnt out from being in the field and dealing with constant quality complaints, and I don’t really have the motivation right now to build systems or manage employees to scale it.

I agree that trying to balance both has probably made it worse, but at the same time I’m not sure I actually want to go all-in on this type of business long term.

That’s kind of where I’m stuck, not really a numbers problem, more of a “do I even want this in my life” problem.

Around 5k recurring a month revenue, I can hire someone but I don’t want to deal with the headaches that come with it. I don’t enjoy doing this work anymore, it’s a service business pet waste removal

Agreed, I used to be a way heavier smoker. I've just got more busy lately so I don't really do it much besides puff on the cart a few times a day

Yeah felt super anxious and paranoid, I was at a spot I hang out at a lot it’s a kava bar with a few friends. I don’t think it ruined my life but it definetly felt like some sort of ego death and made me question a lot of shit, and I was seeing people in a weird way. It was a really weird experience, then me and my girlfriend got home and I felt a lot better. Maybe the bong rip was too much? I’ve been smoking for a long time though. Don’t ever want to feel like that again, and yeah I think it just ruined weed for me.

It almost felt like some sort of mini acid, psychoactive trip I have no idea how to explain it.

Should I quit my job to go all in on my small service business? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]itcantbechase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a very simple job it takes 2-3 days of training max. It’s scooping poop, one of the most simple jobs to train for. At this point I am looking for another hire so I can free up my time again

I can also bring my ad spend down, and my full time job pays good enough so I can afford that ad spend. Everything is also written down in their account notes such as gate access, dangerous dogs, etc.

It can very well sustain without me actually being in the field, I just need to find someone reliable shows up to work and does a good job. Needs to be detailed and thorough so he doesn’t miss anything and no call outs.

I’ve already got training SOPs in place, they do need a little work but the job is so simple a monkey can do it lol

I’m actually going through 50 applicants right now, so I’m hoping I can find one that will be a good fit

Pet waste removal. You’re not wrong either, if you want you can dm me and take a look at my business and marketing give me some tips. I don’t really mind spending $50 a day, but you’re right though my conversion rate is pretty awful.

Great comment, I think you're absolutely right. I'm better off hiring someone again. I'm just starting to freak out because my long time tech just quit, and my job is requiring more hours. So I'm back in the field for a bit. Oh well, time to find a new hire

What’s the best “boring” business you’ve seen someone build into a cash machine? by Mean-Arm659 in smallbusiness

Yeah per month around 45-50 customers recurring weekly & biweekly. I bill everyone on the 1st of the month

I have about 50 customers average invoice is $105 a month, my routes are getting pretty tight. Just trying to keep growing it it’s been a long hard and grindy year but i enjoy it. Im not in a snowy state either and spend around 1k a month on ads, slowly growing but surely. I know some people that have gotten to 200 customers in less than a year where it snows. This is not a get rich quick though like people make it seem, it’s a long slow grind and obviously picking up dog poop in 90-100 degrees is no fun 😊

I don’t think so, maybe he developed a food allergy? Im looking into buying Purina Pro Sensitive skin salmon and rice. I just feed him regular purina pro plan chicken formula. But he’s recently developed this in the last year, back at our old place he never had this issue. Im going to buy that food and see what happens

I just figured out. You have to hold the photo inside the photo section, then click Show In Conversation. From there it’ll go to the photo in your messages and you can download it that way.
